Miami Heat: Why LeBron James Won't Bring a Title to South Beach
LeBron James will never win a title with the Miami Heat.
They won’t be hanging another banner inside the American Airlines Arena for quite some time unless things drastically change.
It all started with the “The Decision”, when LeBron decided to take his talents to South Beach, and the premature “welcome party” for the “three kings” that crowned them champions before the season even tipped off.
James revealed then and over the course of the season that he’s not a winner and the Heat organization doesn’t have the heart or the passion to win a championship with their current roster.
Dwyane Wade has that drive, but he can’t win it by himself, and it took Shaquille O’Neal, a true warrior and big game superstar, to come in and help him get over the hump.
Chris Bosh doesn’t have it, a lanky power forward who had only been to the playoffs twice in his seven-year career and never past the first round before abandoning the Raptors to try and hide his flaws in Miami.
LeBron certainly doesn’t have the passion that drove winners like Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and the other greats of the game that won multiple titles.
He’s got all the skill in the world, perhaps more than any human being to ever step on the basketball court, but doesn’t have that indomitable will to win.
That’s not something he will ever just learn; it’s something innate and something he doesn’t possess.
Talent can you get you far, far enough to the Finals in the East against rosters of aging stars and young up-and-comers without experience, but it’s not enough to win it all against a deep, experienced, hungry team led by a bona fide winner such as Dirk Nowitzki.
The talent level in the East is going to continue to rise, and the West is still just as competitive as ever. Unless the Heat add some more players around LeBron and Bosh who have Wade’s passion for the game, the three kings won’t be wearing a new ring anytime soon.
