Tuesday's WWE Tribute to the Troops opened with a message from President Barack Obama.
He thanked the troops and confirmed that all troops are coming home by the end of the month and that the war in Iraq was over.
He then wished everyone a merry Christmas and happy holidays.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Even though I don’t follow politics, nor do I like them, it was nice to see the President address the troops in the arena
Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett
The match ended in a double count-out when both superstars prevented the other from reentering the ring.
A brawl ensued which Barrett got the upper hand of. He then pulled out a table and set it up in the ring.
Orton came back and was about to powerbomb Barrett through the table when David Otunga ran in and attacked the Viper.
Orton came back again and hit the RKO on Otunga before putting him through the table.
I thought this was a good match and a nice preview of their encounter this Sunday at TLC.
Both wrestlers put on a good show here and Barrett is really proving that he’s the future of the WWE.
It was good to see Otunga doing something that wasn’t drinking coffee.
I really hope this mini-feud with Orton turns into something more after the Orton/Barrett feud is done.
Backstage Wade Barrett said that had a psychological advantage over Orton and he’ll be putting the Viper through a table.
I can’t wait for this match! It could steal the show!
Jack Swagger vs. Zack Ryder
Before the match, Ryder said that Dolph Ziggler is last person the people want to represent the United States and that he’d win the title at TLC.
He then brought out Sgt. Slaughter who revealed that he was a broski! It’s always great to see a legend!
Ryder ended up winning the match with the Rough Rider.
This was a decent match that showcased Ryder as he heads into a US Title match at TLC.
We also got to see Slaughter get involved a little bit.
It's a shame that Swagger has fallen so far since winning the World Championship. I hope WWE gives him the chance to shine soon.
While the match saw Ryder in control for most of it, it was still an entertaining match.
The Bella Twins, Natalya and Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly, Eve, Alicia Fox and Maria Menounos
Maria rolled up Beth to pick up the win for her team.
This actually wasn’t a horrible match. I thought this was better than previous Divas matches over the past few months.
It blows my mind, though, that Beth Phoenix has fallen so far since winning the title.
Her title reign is a bust and her gimmick isn’t working. Something needs to happen.
Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes
Bryan picked up the victory after Booker T punched Rhodes in the face.
Booker and Rhodes brawled in the ring for a bit afterwards before Booker hit a back body drop.
Rhodes tried to run back in but was met by a big right hand.
The troops were then treated to a spin-a-rooni.
This was a good match that showcased the skills of both wrestlers.
I can’t wait for Bryan’s ribs to “heal” so he won’t be restricted anymore, though.
Cody Rhodes is without a doubt the future of the WWE and Daniel Bryan is starting to show that he truly belongs and he too will bring WWE into the next decade!
I can’t wait to see Booker T vs. Cody Rhodes at TLC. It should be a great match!
Air Boom vs. Epico and Primo
The heels picked up the victory when Epico pinned Evan Bourne with the Backstabber.
This was a good tag-team match that had a nice pace and good back-and-forth action.
This match gives me hope that the tag-team division could be back on track.
I’m glad to see Primo and Rosa Mendes actually doing something now. It’s about time WWE found them a storyline.
I have a feeling that Air Boom will be losing the titles soon as punishment for Bourne’s recent suspension.
As long as the feud is given proper attention, I don’t care who the champions are. If given the proper attention this feud could revitalize the tag division with a series of good matches.
Christian then made his way out.
He complained about his injuries and how the fans don’t support him.
He there’s to support he Canadian army and that brought out Sheamus. Christian hobbled away and Sheamus headed to the ring for a match.
Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre
Sheamus picked up the win with the Brogue Kick.
This match was pretty much a squash that saw McIntyre fed to the Great White.
I love this new Sheamus but feeding him low-card wrestlers doesn’t do much good.
McIntyre is a great talent but he’s being pushed aside. WWE should give him a chance to shine.
Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and Zack Ryder are shining right now because they were given the chance to do so.
I think it’s time for Drew McIntyre to get that same chance.
Alberto Del Rio, the Miz and Mark Henry vs. CM Punk, Big Show and John Cena
The faces won the match after Big Show punched Mark Henry in the face and John Cena delivered the Attitude Adjustment.
This was a good match that advanced the two World Championship matches at TLC very well.
Everyone did their job and it made the match quite the enjoyable one. Punk was without a doubt the star of the match, though!
Then there was Cena, who doesn’t have a match at the PPV and was there only because of his well-documented support of the US troops.
I have to admit, though, Cena put on a good show during the match.
The show ended with the entire locker room out on the stage and Cena thanking the troops on behave the roster.
The roster then went out to the crowd and celebrated with them.
Throughout the show we saw appearances from celebrities such as Hugh Jackman, the Muppets, Robin Williams, Regis Philbin and many more giving thanks to the troops as well as wishing them a safe and happy holiday.
It’s always good to see a celebrity take a break from making millions to acknowledge the troops.
Nickelback, Mary J. Blige and George Wallace performed for the fans though I took their performances as a chance to go to the bathroom.
While I’m not a fan of them that doesn’t mean others aren’t so I’m sure their performances were enjoyable.
We also got to see footage throughout the night of WWE superstars skydiving with soldiers, visiting West Point and the National Guard, and an interview with J.R. Martinez.
Overall I felt that WWE Tribute to the Troops was an entertaining show.
That’s all that really matters, right?
Tonight was a night to entertain the men and women who protect our country and the troops in the audience seemed to love the show.
The night was filled with good matches and entertaining segments featuring the WWE superstars interacting with the troops. The wrestlers certainly pull out their best for this show!
I think this year’s Tribute to the Troops was a success!
