NBA Free Agents 2011: Kris Humphries and the Best Players Still Available
Here's a quick look at some of the top NBA free agents still available out there.
Note: Jason Richardson is also still available, but I recently wrote about him so I left him off this list.
Kris Humphries
Humphries has gone pretty much off the radar in terms of the NBA because of his off-the-court drama.
But don't forget Humphries averaged a double-double in 28 minutes per game last year. He's an extremely efficient rebounder and would make for a terrific role player with a contender.
His Kardashian-focused problems might be keeping teams at bay, but that could also mean he could be had at a discount. We'll see if anyone takes the risk.
Carl Landry
The New Orleans Hornets appear to be cleaning house as they let David West go, and it doesn't look like they'll be signing Landry, either.
The big 28-year-old averaged 12 points and four-and-a-half rebounds last year between the Hornets and Kings, but hey, he averaged 18 and six just a year ago when he started 28 games with Sacramento.
Landry is a hard worker and would provide good experience down low to any team.
Nene Hilario
The man with one name (but not really) has never seemingly hit his full potential, but he's still a bona fide starter for most teams.
Nene is good for 14 points, eight rebounds and good defense on the inside. He also shot 61 percent last year, so he's very efficient.
It seems that whoever loses out on the Dwight Howard frenzy will likely take a long look at Nene.
J.J. Barea
The little spark plug is instant offense off the bench. It's as simple as that.
He likely won't start for any team because of his size (6'0"), but Barea is an easy sixth-man candidate with the way he can light up the scoreboard.
He was an integral part on Dallas' title-winning team, and that will get him a lot of money. It doesn't appear likely he will return to the Mavs, however.
Jamal Crawford
Speaking of instant offense, this guy is the definition of it.
He's averaged about 16 points per game off the bench in the last two years and simply thrives as the sixth man.
That makes him valuable to any team, but it will have to be a team that can afford his steep price. My guess is Chicago ends up signing him.
