Cam Newton: Panthers Franchise QB Proving His Legs Were Born for the NFL
Cam Newton was largely considered a boom-or-bust prospect coming out of Auburn.
He displayed true game-changing ability and the potential to be a dual-threat at the pro level.
But there were also concerns about his accuracy and if he would be nearly as effective on the ground in the NFL as he was at Auburn.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Well, the rookie still needs time to develop in the pocket, with 13 touchdowns to 14 interceptions, but he's making it known he can indeed be a nightmare rushing out of the backfield.
Headed into Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Newton had rushed for 464 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Then Newton rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another.
The result was a 38-19 win for the Panthers as they improved to 4-8 on the season.
By now those concerns about Newton's potential running the football in the National Football League have vanished. He's become a true threat that always is keeping defenses guessing and can still rack up points even if he struggles throwing the ball.
Also, by now those "character concerns" about Newton have disappeared. He looks like a true leader on the field and he's already earned a heap of respect throughout the league.
Newton, like the Panthers, is developing, and we can't expect him to work miracles right away.
But he is showing signs of becoming a force in the future. The Panthers may be 4-8, but they've lost five games by a touchdown or less. That distance figures to narrow as Newton and the team develops.
One thing's for sure: it's hard not to see a Cam Newton highlight these days.
