Bulls Rumors: Chicago Shooting Guard Search Should Start & End with Brandon Roy
In a tight Eastern Conference, the Chicago Bulls could be just a couple pieces away from potentially being the best in the east.
To do that though, a serious upgrade at shooting guard is needed.
The search for that guy should be an easy one. It should begin and end with Portland's Brandon Roy.
If Roy hits the open market as a victim of the amnesty clause, as many believe he will, he could be the perfect fit in a talented Chicago lineup.
Of course a lot has to happen for the Bulls to get a shot at Roy.
First of all, the Blazers would indeed have to waive Roy. Secondly, Roy would have to pass through all of the teams that are currently under the salary cap before the Bulls and all of the teams over the cap would have a chance at Roy or any other amnesty cut.
That's asking quite a lot, but if somehow Roy is there for the Bulls' taking, they have to jump on him.
Sure, the injury concerns are a bit of a risk considering Roy appeared in only 47 games a year ago after being plagued by knee problems, but if he proves he's healthy, he's worth the risk.
This is the same guy that was named to the 2009 All-NBA Second Team. He can still be that same skilled player.
If he's around, the Bulls shouldn't think twice about going after him. Of course that's a big if, but stranger things have happened.
