Stevie Johnson Celebration: Bills Star WR Deserves To Be Benched
Stevie Johnson went to Revis Island yesterday and caught eight passes for 75 yards and one touchdown.
He also cost his team the football game.
Johnson had better than expected success against the game's top cover cornerback, Darrelle Revis, but also came up short in a few areas.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Johnson's touchdown gave the Bills a 14-7 lead in the first half. He also gave the the Jets a short field.
Following Johnson's now infamous touchdown celebration (watch here), the Bills were penalized 15 yards on the kickoff. The ensuing kick was drilled into the Jets' up man and Gang Green was given a short field in which to work. Plaxico Burress, the target of Johnson's mock celebration, caught the tying score.
Plaxico ultimately had the last laugh too and after the game had this to say (via ESPN New York):
"It doesn't bother me at all. The result I'm looking at is that we won the football game and he turned around and dropped three wide open balls to lose the game for his team. If I was a player that's how I would evaluate myself.
"
Burress didn't dig into the young receiver too much though and even had some kind words to say as well:
"He's a young player and I like him a lot. I think he's a great young talent and is going to be a great player in this league ... It's all love.
"
And while Burress was more than gracious about the situation (and rightfully so), Bills fans and the Bills organization shouldn't be.
Johnson doesn't deserve to be benched just because he dropped passes and possibly the Bills' season. Dropped passes happen; they are part of the game.
He deserves to be benched because he can't handle these big moments yet.
This is not the first time Johnson has dropped a game-winning pass and this isn't the first time his antics have hurt this team either.
He's one of the young cornerstones the Bills are going to move forward with, but he has to learn that stupid penalties and dropped passes are unacceptable.
Buffalo couldn't afford a loss yesterday. They've dropped five of their last six including four straight. The Bills will have to win out to even be considered for the postseason.
It is not impossible looking at their next four games, but the season finale is in Foxborough against the Patriots.
The Bills need to take this opportunity to help Johnson mature as a young man and a player. The whole season will not be blamed on him or this game, but he cannot continue to do things like this.
Benching him for a whole game or even half game will be a humbling experience. He knows the Bills need him in order to succeed, and that includes not acting like a jackass or dropping catchable balls.
It is one thing to hear from the media and fans, but it is another to have the coach and organization make a point of it as well
Johnson's too talented for this nonsense and he'll only be better if he learns from it.
