NFL Predictions: 13 Players and Coaches Who Deserve a Better Opportunity in 2012

David LevinNov 30, 2011

The NFL season has been one of trials and tribulations for some players and coaches.

While there has been both success and failure, the need for consistency has driven many coaches to the brink of failure and players to the brink of insanity.

Either nothing goes right or everything falls into place. There is no middle ground.

Maybe a change of scenery or a better lot in the life of the NFL would do them good. But either way changes are needed for these NFL stars and head coaches who just haven't been able to enjoy the 2012 season.

Andy Reid, Philadelphia Eagles

1 of 13

I personally think Reid leaves after this season or gets fired.

He is still a good coach but has lost the locker room. Too many swelled heads in one place is not a good thing.

Reid could wind up somewhere else and work his magic.

Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals

2 of 13

Another case of great player on a bad team.

Fitzgerald needs a good passer to continuously get him the ball.

He needs a better offense.

Those two things will not happen in Arizona.

Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars

3 of 13

While everyone is worried if the change in head coach will affect rookie Blaine Gabbert, MJD is having one hell of a year for a bad team.

MJD said the team did not play well for Jack Del Rio. The running back is second in the NFL with 1,040 yards.

He deserves a better team around him.

Chris Clemons, Seattle

4 of 13

Clemons has played well this year on a mediocre team.

He is not well known as a pass rusher in the NFL, but he plays hard every game and deserves a better chance with a better team.

Mark Sanchez, New York Jets

5 of 13

Get the feeling Sanchez's time is running out in New York?

He is hot. He is cold. He is uneven.

Whatever the case he needs a new opportunity either with his current team, and that means making some changes, or going somewhere else where he can excel.

Seattle?

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota

6 of 13

The injury hurt him, but the team losing may hurt him more.

Peterson is the best at his position in the game.

He deserves a better fate than what he has been given.

This team will win in the future. Peterson deserves to win now.

Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos

7 of 13

If Denver decides it wants a shot at Matt Barkley or maybe Landry Jones, Tebow will be out in Denver.

I am not certain why so many people are so critical of a football player when all he does is go out every week and win.

It just amazes me. But, if that is the Broncos' plan, then Tebow could wind up somewhere else.

Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis

8 of 13

You can just see it on his face and in his body language.

Wayne may be the one most affected by the loss of Peyton Manning.

Wayne goes out there and performs each week and the team still loses.

Now that Pierre Garcon is getting more touches, and if Manning does not come back next season, Wayne could be on the way out.

Matt Cassel, Kansas City Chiefs

9 of 13

He and head coach Todd Haley have had at least two run-ins on the sidelines during games.

One of them has to go.

Cassel can win in this league. He needs another team to prove it again.

Mike Shanahan, Washington Redskins

10 of 13

If Shanahan is fired as head coach in Washington, would he latch on with another team?

There are many NFL teams who could use his talents. Shanahan won two Super Bowls and is a good "X's and O's" guy and an offensive-minded coach.

Vince Young, Philadelphia Eagles

11 of 13

Last week, Young proved he can throw the ball like a true quarterback.

The legs get him extra yards, but the pocket poise was impressive even in the loss.

He should be starting somewhere next season.

Peyton Hillis, Cleveland Browns

12 of 13

Whether it is a contract dispute, injury dispute or the dreaded "Madden Curse," it looks like Hillis has worn out his welcome in Cleveland.

And last season proved that he can be a punishing back in the form of Mark Van Eegan is given the opportunity.

He will be traded in the offseason.

Jason Campbell, Oakland Raiders

13 of 13

I realize he is injured, but Campbell was having a good season when he went down with a broken collarbone.

All the Raiders did was mortgage the future on Carson Palmer.

Campbell will be a free agent next year and will start for another team.
