Why Vince Young's Success Proves Michael Vick Is Nothing Special
The Philadelphia Eagles fell to the New England Patriots 38-20 Sunday afternoon, dropping the Eagles to 4-7 and all but ending any hopes the Eagles may have had of making the playoffs after being many folks pick to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl in the preseason.
Blame for today's defeat cannot be placed at the feet of quarterback Vince Young, subbing for the injured Michael Vick, as the sixth-year veteran played well for the second consecutive game, completing 26 of 48 passes for 400 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
If you think about it, Young is actually a right-handed, poor-man's version of Vick, an athletic quarterback who struggles with accuracy at times and has a reputation for being prone to injury due to his scrambling style.

However, Young has played at least as well as Vick had this season before getting injured, as Vick's numbers had regressed significantly from his stellar 2010 campaign, with the 10th-year veteran already throwing nearly twice as many interceptions this year as he did all of last season and posting a quarterback rating more than 20 points lower than it was a season ago.
Also, Young makes a fraction of the money Vick does, signing a one-year, $4 million dollar contract with the Eagles before the season, a far cry from the six-year, $85 million megadeal Vick agreed to with the Eagles a few months ago.
That all begs a very important question that's now just one more issue hanging over the Eagles' heads.
If Young's capable of being just as productive in the Philadelphia offense as Vick is, is Vick worth anywhere near what the Eagles have invested in him?
