WWE '12 Review: Deep Roster and Advanced Strategy Makes New Game Best Yet
WWE '12 hit stores on Tuesday and is being greeted with overwhelmingly positive reviews. Generally speaking, anything that makes the game more realistic is a good thing.
But before we get into some of the specifics, take a look at the roster for this game. That is a list of 77 superstars, past and present, that you will have the option to play with. That will keep you entertained for a long time.
The graphics are incredible, and that makes the wrestlers look just like they do in real life. But honestly, that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. The WWE's video games have been top notch in that regard for a long time.

What really excites me about this game is that wrestlers can focus on specific body parts of their opponent.
That's a strategy that wrestlers often employ in their matches, and one of the things that really contributes to in-ring psychology.
If THQ can find a way to bring that element into the WWE video games, then I am in full support of it.
Anthony Sulla-Heffinger of the New York Post did find one flaw, which is around the game's commentary.
"The dialogue in the game’s main story mode, Road to Wrestlemania, comes across as stiff, which is unfortunate because the storylines and experience is deep and gives an all-access look into the different aspects of being a WWE superstar. In addition to those audio shortcomings, the commentary from the ringside announcers, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole, becomes very stale very fast.
"
That's unfortunate, but how does that differ from reality? You can only play the hands you're dealt and when that hand involves Michael Cole, it's going to be a drawback.
Still not enough of a drawback to make this a bad game, or anything close. The deep roster will keep your attention for a long time. The advancements in reality, like focusing on specific body parts, make the game very realistic.
Past strengths, like graphics, are only strengthened and will continue to be strengthened over time.
Overall, this is a game that gamers and WWE fans must get their hand on.
