Waiver Wire Week 12: Braylon Edwards and the Biggest Disappointments to Explode
Patience is a virtue.
It’s a phrase you’ve heard a million times because it relates to all facets of life—including fantasy football.
Sure, your superb waiver-wire skills haven’t panned out yet, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to give up. Here are three players that are incredibly frustrating to own, but will end up coming through just in time for the playoffs when it matters most.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Braylon Edwards, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Edwards was out with a foot injury for the majority of the first half of the season and was showing some serious signs of life since his return. He racked up 109 yards in his first three games back, only to put up a big, fat goose egg against the Cardinals.
Just remember that the 49ers aren’t going to be up double-digits in every game like they were Sunday and sooner or later (Thursday against the Ravens?) Alex Smith will have to take a few shots down the field.
WR Michael Crabtree is clearly the No. 1 receiver, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of red zone targets for Edwards.
Daniel Thomas, RB, Miami Dolphins
It looks like the odd emergence of Reggie Bush is dying down as Thomas out-gained Bush by 18 yards despite having the same amount of carries on Sunday.
He now has 32 carries in the past two games as Thomas shifts to the starting back. He is fully healthy for the first rime since Week 3, where he ran for a combined 202 yards in two games.
This guy has the skill, and is now healthy enough to show everyone as much.
Mark Sanchez, QB, New York Jets
Sanchez may stink for his actual team, but he’s strangely had a great fantasy season. An eight-point (ESPN standard scoring) stink bomb against the Broncos shouldn’t scare you into dropping him.
With all of the injuries in the Jets backfield, he will be expected to throw the ball more than usual. Then you consider the tissue-paper-soft pass defenses still on the slate: Buffalo, Washington, Kansas City and Miami.
Sanchez may not be a franchise QB, but he is a terrific option down the stretch if you were previously rolling with Jay Cutler, Matt Schaub or Matt Cassel.
