WWE Survivor Series 2011: It's Now or Never for a John Cena Heel Turn
There was no logical reason for John Cena and The Rock to defeat The Miz and R-Truth at Survivor Series. That is unless there is a major change on the horizon. That's right, it might finally be time for the mythical Super Cena heel turn.
The only possible explanation for letting Rocky come out on top would be to show the ever-increasing disparity in crowd support between him and Cena.
Awesome Truth had built up some sustained momentum in recent weeks as two of the biggest figures in the dissenter movement. They had already knocked off Triple H and CM Punk at Vengeance. A win over two more enormous stars would have done wonders in terms of storyline development.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Even to the casual observer, the tension between Rock and Cena was obvious. They didn't need a win to illustrate it any further, especially since the company is making one of its biggest stars look weak in favor of somebody who shows up every few months.
So, something bigger has to be on the horizon. Right?
Between Money in the Bank in Chicago against CM Punk and last night as Rock's rival, it's clear the crowd's displeasure with Cena just continues to grow. If he's ever going to turn heel, now's the time to make it happen.
As much as the WWE Universe has grown tired of Cena's superhero act, the points he makes about showing up every night are valid. Few superstars have put in as much time promoting the brand as him since his rise to fame.
He can easily use that as his motivator for turning against the crowd. Something along the lines of, “I have done so much and continue to get treated like garbage.” (Man, that could have been so much stronger if it wasn't the PG era.)
Should Cena continue to pander toward his little Jimmy fan base after last night, it's hard to imagine him ever shaking his baby-face persona. Vince McMahon is known to be stubborn, but this script basically writes itself.
If a Cena heel turn doesn't happen, last night's main event finish was useless. And that's the truth.
