The Rock: Why WWE Should Pay Movie-Grade Money to Keep Him Wrestling Regularly
Finally, The Rock has returned to in-ring action for the WWE, and he did so in winning fashion against the tag team of The Awesome Truth at the 25th anniversary of Survivor Series.
Seeing Rocky come out and "layeth the smacketh down" like the only The Rock can, was sure to excite even the most jaded WWE fans. The man showed up looking lean and mean, and if there was any ring rust from his extended absence, I sure didn't notice it.
In fact, seeing Rock electrify the crowd tonight left many wondering (myself included) if the WWE should try and bring the Brahma Bull back on a more permanent basis.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
After all, even though he hasn't truly wrestled in seven years, The Rock was able to throw all doubt aside and put on a solid match. Is it really that crazy to think that he could make a full comeback to the company that gave him his start?
The answer to that question is probably no, but not from a talent standpoint. It all comes down to money and, while I don't know for sure how much the WWE pays Rocky per appearance, I doubt it's as much as he makes per movie.
That said, the WWE should seriously consider shelling out the cash needed to bring The Rock back on at least semi-full-time basis. He's still got the athletic ability to put on a match that most older guys lack, and he's more over with the fans than anyone else on the roster.
Those aren't even the biggest reasons I would bring The Rock back, though. Think about the current state of the WWE roster right now. There are a few guys like CM Punk who can deliver a great promo, but the majority of them lack the ability to captivate a crowd on the mic.
This is why Rocky needs to make a comeback. He's easily one of the top three Superstars ever on the stick and, if used correctly, he could help some of the younger wrestlers get over, while helping them create a character that lasts.
Now, if he did this on a one-on-one basis with someone like Daniel Bryan, that would be great. The WWE would of used an older wrestler to help build up some young blood, which is exactly what they need to be doing.
However, I have bigger plans for The Great One.
The Internet has been flooded with people calling for John Cena to make a heel turn and lead the new nWo alongside Awesome Truth and Kevin Nash. That's a great idea, but what if The Rock also started his own faction?
What I'm imagining is a face faction, lead by The Great One, that includes some of the young guys who are less polished in the promo department. By putting guys like John Morrison and Kofi Kingston together with The Brahma Bull, the WWE would allow them to shine athletically, while The Rock does most of the talking for them.
Something like this has worked in the past. Think back to Evolution. Triple H and Ric Flair were the main voices of the stable, and Randy Orton and Batista were able to just wrestle while they worked on their mic skills.
Considering that Batista and Orton turned into two of the WWE's biggest draws following their Evolution run, I'd say that experiment worked out well for the company.
Why can't something like that happen again with a huge name like The Rock attached to it?
The main reason is always going to come down to money, but the WWE needs to have the younger generation to succeed for the company to have a solid future. Bringing back Rocky and placing him in a stable, like the one I've outlined, could help to do just that.
When you look at the benefits of having the most electrifying man in entertainment on the roster full-time, the WWE really can't afford not to at least try and bring back The Rock on a regular basis.
