WWE Survivor Series Results: Dolph Ziggler's Win and What It Means
Dolph Ziggler defeated John Morrison at WWE Survivor Series on Sunday night to retain the United States Championship.
This is the point where I would tell you that it was a hard fought contest, with both men giving it their all to walk away with WWE gold. Well, it was, to a certain extent, and they did, somewhat. But to be honest, it really wasn’t all that great.
Here’s the thing. Ziggler looked great, as he has for several months now. He is really coming into his own, both in the ring and on the mic, and Sunday night only drove home the point that he is becoming a big time player in WWE.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Morrison, on the other hand, while he looked good, unfortunately did not seem to get much. He took a lot of the heat, and was beat down for the majority of the match.
Ziggler did the heel typical maneuver, showboating and playing up to the crowd, while John was flat on his back. I have to say, while I expected that from Dolph, it was a little surreal to see Morrison lying there with virtually nothing to show for his efforts.
But he did manage a comeback, and the match continued in good fashion.
Problem No. 2? The crowd could care less. They wanted Zack Ryder.
Ryder, the Long Island hero who made his own push happen when WWE would not, began an online petition this past week. Asking fans to sign up so he could get a U.S. title match, Ryder kept up his shtick of taking his career to the people.
However, that match did not happen, and Morrison, for whatever reason, got the nod. Again, it wasn’t a bad match, but it could have been a lot better.
So, what is next for Ziggler? Maybe the better question is, who’s next?
All apologies to Goldberg, who just got $500 for that one, the fact is that there’s only one real answer to who will now challenge Diggler for his United States championship.
Woo woo woo. You know it.
Ziggler is good, he’s getting better all the time, and the truth is, for him to continue along his path upward, he needs other good superstars to compete against. Guys who can hold their own, workers who are comparable in ability and talent, to measure up to Dolph.
For my money, that guy is Ryder, who is as competent in the ring as Ziggler. It’s true, he’s not featured as much as the champ, but he is talented and skilled in his own right. He has proven he can hold his own, and can handle the spotlight.
I do not know why Ryder continues to take a backseat in situations where the timing seems to be right for him to step in. No idea. This was one of those situations.
The crowd wanted Ryder, and considering that Survivor Series was in Zack’s home state, it’s unimaginable to me that WWE did not anticipate the fans’ reaction. This was evidenced by the pop that Zack got when he came down at the end of the match.
There can be only one reason why Ryder keeps getting left out. WWE is milking this for all it’s worth.
Working the crowd, getting them fired up, giving them just a taste of Ryder, and then pulling back when they want more. It’s an old move, and so far it’s working pretty well.
But if they do intend on pulling the trigger for a real Ryder run, then it has to start soon, while the crowd is still popping for him, and he’s still hot. Until then, we look to be getting more of the same for Ryder and all of his fans.
Are you serious, bro?
