Jets vs. Broncos Thursday Night Football: Does Tim Tebow Prove Wins Are QB Stat?
Are wins a QB stat? Well it's possible to make an argument for both yes and no. However, last I checked the whole team gets a win, not just the QB.
That being said, is Tim Tebow proving that a win can be a QB stat? If so, then wouldn't losing be considered a QB stat as well? Either way the proof is in the pudding, at least thus far, and Tebow is 4-1 in 2011.
Then again, had it not been for rookie LB Von Miller and the Orange Crush Denver defense then the Broncos don't win that game. So in the grand scheme of things, a win is not a QB stat because we have to look at the league from a team-first perspective.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
We don't go into the playoffs saying Aaron Rodgers went 10-6 in 2010 and earned a the NFC's No. 6 seed. The Green Bay Packers went 10-6 and earned a wild-card spot. Once that gets acknowledged then we can narrow it down in terms of the players.
Aaron Rodgers led the Packers to a 10-6 record and a Super Bowl win, but he's not the only player who's getting a Super Bowl ring.
All this being said, wins only become a QB stat when we are discussing QBs amongst each other. And with stats being so specific and saber-metric (even though that's more of a baseball term) these days, we can really take any player at any position and make "winning" a stat.
For example, team X has a record when player X carries the ball so many times, or team Y has a record when player Y catches so many passes. Obviously, these are generic instead of using real names, but it can even get even more specific. Especially if you watch football all day, everyday.
The best realistic example that comes to mind are how well the Chicago Bears play when Devin Hester returns a kick/punt back for a TD. Since his rookie year of 2006, the Bears are 13-4 including the postseason, when Hester takes a kick or a punt back for a TD.
So should Devin Hester also be included in the "winning is a stat" discussion? Make no mistake about it, Tim Tebow is simply proving that he can win games. How much longer will this offensive scheme work in the pros? Who knows.
But what Tebow has is that intangible "it" factor that can takeover a game late and virtually will his team to victory on the final drive. Tebow is a winner, but that doesn't necessarily make winning a QB stat.
