WWE News: Very Latest on John Morrison and His WWE Contract Status
It’s been a whirlwind year for John Morrison.
He started 2011 off by wrestling The Miz for the WWE Championship in one of the best matches of the year, suffered a serious neck injury that kept him out of action for a few months and then he returned, only to go on a long losing streak that lasted more than three months.
Now, Morrison is facing Dolph Ziggler for the United States Championship at Survivor Series in just two days despite the widespread belief that he’s set to part ways with the company.

So, what’s up with Morrison?
Here’s the latest on his WWE status, courtesy of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via SEScoops.com):
"John Morrison’s current contract with WWE expires at the end of November, the Wrestling Observer reports. It is not known whether he has re-signed with the organization.
He was pulled from advertised for WWE’s upcoming tour of Japan, which takes place November 30 and December 1, 2011 in Yokohama. His last announced appearance takes place at the November 28, 2011 Raw SuperShow in Columbia, South Carolina.
"
So, it looks like we know a lot of nothing at this point, huh?
Morrison could be staying, or he could be going.
The fact that Morrison has been pulled from the tour of Japan could signal the end of his tenure with the WWE, but as the Wrestling Observer indicates, we just don’t know at this point. I, for one, find it really hard to believe that Morrison would be getting a title shot on a big pay-per-view if he hadn’t at least verbally agreed to terms on a new contract.
Of course, there’s a chance that Morrison goes out there and jobs to Ziggler because he’s bolting the WWE. But why even put the man on pay-per-view (and give him the big paycheck that comes along with it) if you know he’s leaving the company in a couple of weeks?
The WWE isn’t going to bribe a mid-card star to stay with the company by giving him a PPV title shot. Bribery is best saved for big-time stars.
So, I think Morrison has probably realized that the WWE is the place he needs to be for his career to thrive, and he needs to sign a new contract if he wants to do that.
