Key Storyline
TCU is coming off a huge upset victory over Boise State. It actually could make a BCS bowl if it gets lucky.
The Horned Frogs would need the currently No. 11 Houston Cougars and No. 20 Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles to lose a game, but it’s very possible.
TCU is No. 19 right now but will not finish in the Top 12, but it should finish in the Top 16 and ranked higher than whoever the champion of the Big East turns out to be.
That would get the Horned Frogs into a BCS bowl if one of the other non-automatic qualifying schools falters.
Pretty crazy.

QB Pete Thomas—QST (Knee)—Thomas sprained his knee in the last game and the starting QB may not play against TCU. Garrett Grayson, a freshman, would most likely start in his place.

BCS/Top 25 Implications
As mentioned earlier, TCU has serious BCS implications on the line here and cannot afford to drop a game against these lowly Rams.
The team is 3-6 and could theoretically win out and go bowling this year.
It’s highly unlikely and TCU should crush them to keep its BCS bowl dreams alive for at least one more week.
What They're Saying
Jeff Caplan of ESPN.com mapped out exactly how TCU would need to get lucky breaks to make a BCS bowl.
"The script favorable to the Frogs would see SMU or Tulsa knock off Houston, and then the Coogs beat Southern Miss in the title game, assuring each another loss. Of course, if Tulsa does the job, it would likely then face Southern Miss and that could hurt the Eagles' chances of jumping the Frogs.
"
If it plays out, the two-loss Frogs could very well become the first non-undefeated, non-AQ team to play in a BCS game.
If that happens, consider these Frogs charmed.
Steve Fairchild, head coach of the Rams, talked about redshirt potential for backup freshman QB in his weekly press conference.
"“He’ll have plenty of time down the road I think if that’s a possibility. I know a long time ago when I played I think I redshirted my fourth year (1979 at CSU). If there’s a way to help him out at some point we’ll do it. It was the right move. We’ve come close during the season to putting him in. He’ll play now. He’ll play some every game. We’ve got to commit to him. Even when Pete (Thomas) is back, be it this week or next week. I think Garrett (Grayson) deserves the right to play in the games. We’ll do that.”

Colorado State Player to Watch: Chris Nwoke
The sophomore running back will need to step up huge if the Rams want any chance to win.
They most likely will be without Pete Thomas and the team will rely heavily on its leading rusher.
TCU Player to Watch: Josh Boyce
This kid went crazy against Boise State and is a legitimate monster when he turns it on.
He had five catches for 163 yards and three touchdowns in the upset win over the Broncos.
Key Matchup
Colorado State’s entire team is going to need to step it up to have any chance of winning as a 33-point underdog.
It needs to play exceptionally well on offense, defense and special teams to beat a much superior Horned Frogs team.
Prediction
TCU 50, Colorado State 10
