Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Jones is officially active, according to ESPN's Chris Mortenson. DeMarco Murray owners whouldn't panic though, as Jones shouldn't be expected to take on the feature back role. The Cowboys are likely to let Jones get his feet wet and assume the change of pace role that he has proven to be so effective at.
UPDATE: Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 12:30 p.m. EDT
In a move that should surprise absolutely no one, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that Felix Jones is going to return as the backup to DeMarco Murray this week.
From Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com:
"Owner/general manager Jerry Jones indicated during a radio appearance Tuesday that rookie DeMarco Murray, who has been a dominant force while Felix Jones was sidelined with a high ankle sprain, would continue to get the bulk of the carries.
"One thing that comes to my mind is that Murray looks like the more he carries, the more effective he gets," Jerry Jones said on KRLD-FM. "You think of that theoretically about a workhorse running back, that they get better as the game goes along.
"
Murray has averaged over 150 yards per game in the four games that Jones has missed and the Cowboys have established a much better balance on offense.

Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas examined possible roles for Jones upon his return. DeMarco Murray has established himself as the starter, so Jones will probably see less offensive snaps moving forward. On a positive note, less touches should equal better durability for the injury-prone back.
"Moving Jones to kickoff duty gives the Cowboys a legitimate threat in the return game, something that's been missing this year.
Jones' health raises questions about moving him there because he’s been nicked up every year with the exception of last year. But if you're worried about his health all the time, just cut him.
"
Watkins also mentioned third-down duty as a potential landing spot for Jones. Regardless, it's hard to imagine him becoming a must-start fantasy option with Murray in the picture.
We'll find out more about Jones' chances of playing when practice resumes during the week.
