Week 10 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Last Minute Advice for Your Fantasy Football Team
Another important week in the NFL and your fantasy football league is about to kick off. Today's games will have a major impact on the playoff race, in both the NFL and your fantasy league. Making the correct roster decisions are what will make or break your season.
Prior to making any lineup decisions, you need to make sure you analyze each matchup. At this point in the season, we know what teams are good against the run. If your stud running back is facing a tough defense, you might have to consider making a change.
In the next few slides, I break down several players who are either must-starts or guys you need to bench. Good luck this week.
Start'em: LeSean McCoy
1 of 5The Philadelphia Eagles have become a team that puts a lot of emphasis on the running game. LeSean McCoy has become one of the best running backs in the NFL. He is capable of breaking off long runs and also picking up the tough yardage.
McCoy and the Eagles are facing the Arizona Cardinals who have struggled to stop the run. They are allowing about 117 rushing yards per game. I could see McCoy racking up over 125 rushing yard and possibly a touchdown or two.
If you own McCoy, he is a must start each and every week.
Start’em: Arian Foster
2 of 5After the injury to Andre Johnson, the Houston Texans were forced to become a team that focuses on running the football. Arian Foster and the Texans rushing attack has become one of the most consistent in the entire NFL.
Early in the season, many Arian Foster owners were probably concerned about his nagging hamstring injury. However, he has really come on strong, earning his early fantasy draft position.
Foster and the Texans are taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are allowing 132 rushing yards per game. This matchup is great news for Arian Foster owners, who should expect a big day. Foster is going to get a ton of carries against a defense who struggles to stop the run.
Start’em: Jay Cutler
3 of 5I feel that Jay Culter is playing the best football of his career. Cutler is putting up consistent numbers, while also avoiding turnovers. His production is more impressive because of the lack of surrounding talent. He is stuck dealing with a below average offensive line and an inconsistent wide receiving corps.
This week's matchup isn’t the best for Cutler, but he and the Bears have something to prove. I really feel that the offensive line will provide enough time for Cutler to take advantage of the Lions' secondary.
Sit’em: Andy Dalton
4 of 5Andy Dalton is not a must-start fantasy option, but has been put up consistent numbers. However, he is going to be facing the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for the first time in his career. Pittsburgh excels at developing exotic blitzes that are sure to confuse a rookie quarterback.
Dalton is going to put a lot of faith in Cedric Benson to find a way to establish a running attack. However, I don’t see Benson finding success, meaning Dalton will have to make plays in the passing game. This situation is exactly what Pittsburgh’s defense craves.
Sit’em: Wes Welker
5 of 5Wes Welker and the New England Patriots have a tough matchup this weekend, against the New York Jets. The Jets have started to find their stride, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I fully expect to see Rex Ryan bringing a lot of pressure on Tom Brady.
I also expect to see Darrelle Revis matched up on Wes Welker, a must see matchup. Revis is one of the few cornerbacks who can match Welker’s change of direction ability. Welker is going to find himself on Revis island, a touch place to find success.
