NFL Week 10 Picks: Hot-Seat Alert for Coaches on Verge of Another Loss
Along with the pass-happy fad that's taken over pro football, the stability of being a head coach has decreased significantly. As the NFL was progressively gaining national interest throughout the 20th century, coaching changes were nowhere near as common as they are now.
So, with new direction and personnel in mind, here are four coaches on the Week 10 hot-seat.
Norv Turner, San Diego (Lost vs. Raiders)

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In Norv Turner's first three seasons with the Chargers, the Bolts won the AFC West and made it to the divisional round in each season.
It appeared that after he replaced Marty Schottenheimer, San Diego was clearly going to be an AFC title contender for quite some time. However, that all seems to be falling apart after the loss to Oakland at home on Thursday night.
San Diego has dropped four consecutive contests, and it's apparent that late season surges can only save you for so long. The Chargers don't have a threatening ground game and Philip Rivers is on a down year. There's not much hope left for the 2011 season, let alone Turner's future in Southern California.
Jack Del Rio, Jacksonville (at Colts)
Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio has been on the hot-seat for quite some time now. While a loss on the road in Indianapolis doesn't look good, it won't be surprising to see the Jags give him one more year.
Jacksonville has a stud defense and the offense is starting a rookie QB. Next season will definitely take a turn for the better, but Del Rio needs to win a couple of more games to ensure that 2011 wasn't just another rebuilding season.
If the Jags finish somewhere around 3-13, there would be good reason to can the former NFL LB and get a fresh start in the weak AFC South.
Colts over Jaguars
Jim Caldwell, Indianapolis (vs. Jaguars)
Regardless of what happens against Jacksonville, it won't change Jim Caldwell's future. The Colts are the current front-runners in the "Suck for Luck" sweepstakes, and starting over with a new QB and head coach will rejuvenate the franchise.
Then again, it won't be surprising to see Caldwell remain. He could be given an opportunity to help develop the rookie QB alongside Peyton Manning. That being said, if Caldwell is given one more year, 2012 is sure to be his last chance to turn the franchise around.
If not, it will be time to make some changes before Andrew Luck's potential takes a dive.
Colts over Jaguars
Tony Sparano, Miami (vs. Redskins)
The Miami Dolphins are going to get a second consecutive win this week after defeating the Washington Redskins at home. However, that doesn't guarantee head coach Tony Sparano will be around in 2012.
Miami is clearly in need of some changes. It looks as if Matt Moore may begin to develop (if even a little), but they still need a QB to compete for the starting job in training camp. Chad Henne is not the answer.
By season's end, Miami will be lucky to finish 3-13. There's no doubt that a top draft pick is in place. Not to mention, the 2012 class is loaded with solid QBs. The 'Fins can't go wrong when looking for a long-term solution in case Moore doesn't pan out.
