Mike McQueary: Penn State Board of Trustees Ban Embattled Coach from Sidelines
The spotlight of disdain moves from a head coach that did the least amount to report alleged villainy to a former graduate assistant that saw it all. Penn State officials have now banned Mike McQueary from coaching on the field Saturday.
Chris May, a news anchor for CBS Philly, reported the news via tweet that Penn State Board of Trustee officials want McQuaery off the field in the Nittany Lions game Saturday.
This is only half of what needs to be done in the case on assistant coach McQueary. Just as Joe Paterno was thrown out because of the Jerry Sandusky scandal that has swept across Happy Valley, McQueary should also be shown the door.
A CBS report cites, "The Board of Trustees does not plan to fire McQueary or ask him to resign, but would like him off the field out of concern for his safety."
That leaves many to wonder what exactly the full story is. There has to be a reason that the board is not letting on as to why McQueary will continue to hold onto his job while Spanier and Paterno have been ousted.
For one, Paterno was seemingly fired for not doing the morally ethical thing in reporting to police officials outside campus personnel that depraved allegations were being thrown about.
McQueary, by way of the Grand Jury report, saw an alleged victim raped and also failed to ever report the incident to police, instead opting for telling his father then Paterno.
Secondly, it was clear that Penn State Board of Trustees did not want Joe Paterno to be the face of Nittany Lions football any longer.
Now they have McQueary, a fiery-red head, roam the sidelines of Penn State football. Sure, they may have him off at home against Nebraska, but he will one day roam the field if he is not summarily dismissed.
All of the reasons that Paterno was fired apply to McQueary. It makes you think that we are not nearly tuned into the full story, or the Penn State Board is not in touch with reality; it can't be anything else.
