Cardinals vs. Eagles: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio, Game Time and More
Kevin Kolb might be making his not-so-triumphant return to the "City of Brotherly Love" this Sunday when the Arizona Cardinals travel to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kolb was supposed to be the missing piece that the Cardinals needed in order to get back on top in the NFC West. Things have not gone as planned for him or the team as they sit near the bottom of the division yet again with a 2-6 record.
Speaking of disappointing teams, how about those Eagles? Once thought to be Super Bowl contenders thanks to all their offseason additions, Andy Reid’s squad has reached the halfway point of the season with a 3-5 record. Of their five losses, four of them have come in games they led in the fourth quarter.

What’s At Stake?
It is safe to say that the loser of this game is essentially eliminated from playoff contention.
The Cardinals are five games behind the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West with just eight to play, so barring a collapse of epic proportions, their only chance to get in the postseason is with one of the two wild cards.
The odds are not in Arizona’s favor, but we have seen stranger things happen in the NFL.
The Eagles’ problems have been much more subtle than the Cardinals’. They have had opportunities to win every game that they have played. Four of their five losses have come by seven points or less, so they need a win in the worst way just to get some confidence and swagger back.

Fantasy Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em, Sleeper
Start ‘Em: Phi RB LeSean McCoy
There have not been a lot of things that have gone right for the Eagles this season, but LeSean McCoy is by far the biggest bright spot. He has run for at least 100 yards in four games and has scored a touchdown in all eight games.
The Cardinals give up a lot of big plays and they have a terrible defensive line, so McCoy should be able to have a field day against them.
Sit ‘Em: AZ RB Beanie Wells
Wells is still battling a knee injury, and even though he was able to play through it against St. Louis, he was not effective. He had 10 carries and 20 yards against the weak Rams defense, so to expect him to do more in this game is ridiculous.
Sleeper: AZ WR Early Doucet
The Cardinals do not have a lot of playmakers on offense, but the few that they do have will be asked to produce a lot in this game for the team to have a chance.
Doucet is not a difference-making wide receiver. He is, however, a solid No. 3 fantasy receiver who has the potential to do more with the right matchup. He had six catches for 78 yards last week, which was his third-best yardage output of the season.
The Eagles are prone to giving up big plays to opposing receivers, and with Larry Fitzgerald commanding double teams, someone has to step up.
What They Are Saying
Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb is making his first visit back to Philadelphia since being traded, though his status is up in the air right now. He does not hold any grudge or ill-will towards the Eagles for trading him.
From the Cardinals' official website:
"“Once Mike really started playing well and he took over the town -- and I was behind Mike the whole way -- that’s when I started realizing I would probably be on the trading block if Andy would let me go,” Kolb said. “I kept my mind on our team, but I started wondering who is in need of a quarterback, where are the possibilities I could go, where do I want to go?”
"
In an interview with the Eagles' official site, quarterback Michael Vick talked about the biggest difference between the offense last year, which ranked third in the NFL in points per game, and this year, which ranks ninth in points per game.
""Things happen for a reason. You can only control what you can control. I don't think defenses are playing me differently. Things are pretty much the same. We have more turnovers this year than we do last year," Vick said. "That's been the key."

Cardinals Player To Watch: CB/PR Patrick Peterson
In addition to being an immensely talented defensive back, Peterson has proven to be a valuable asset on special teams with three punt return touchdowns already this season.
Peterson will have to have the best game of his young career by stopping DeSean Jackson when on defense and putting the Cardinals offense in a good position to score when he returns punts.
The better Peterson is, the more likely the Cardinals will be able to hang with the Eagles for four quarters.
Eagles Player To Watch: QB Michael Vick
Despite being one of the most electrifying players in the NFL, Vick has had a fairly pedestrian year passing the ball in 2011. He is throwing for a lot of yards—2,065—and has a good completion percentage—62.0—but his TD:INT ratio is just 11:9 through eight games.
The good news for Vick is that the Cardinals defense ranks 29th against the pass, so he should be able to dominate this week.
The Eagles have invested a lot of money in Vick and he has to produce at the level he did in 2010 for this team to have any chance to succeed the rest of the season.
Key Matchup: Eagles Offensive Line vs. Arizona Defensive Line
The Eagles have had their share of problems keeping quarterback Michael Vick upright this season. Since he is so fast, he is able to escape trouble and does not get sacked as much as a normal QB would.
However, when the Eagles offense gets into trouble, more often than not, it is because of a breakdown in the trenches.
Vick has to have time to drop back and pass against a weak Cardinals secondary in order for the Eagles to win this game.
The Cardinals defensive line has been surprisingly effective at attacking opposing quarterbacks. They are tied for third in the NFL with 27 sacks. If they get consistent pressure on Vick, it will be another disappointing day for the Eagles.
Prediction
An unstable quarterback situation will prevent the Cardinals from being able to score enough points to stay in the game for longer than three quarters.
