Pacquiao vs. Marquez: Speed Will Make This Fight Heart Stopping
In their first fight, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez went to the wire, resulting in a draw. In their second fight, they again went to the wire, but Pacquiao came out on top by split decision.
It has been 24 rounds that couldn't possibly get any closer.
This time around, neither fighter is going to let the judges decide the outcome. They just can't afford to. There will be too much on the line.
If Manny Pacquiao doesn't win this fight by knockout or, at the very least, a unanimous decision, he can forget about his legacy as "Greatest Boxer of All Time," and he can forget about a meeting with Floyd Mayweather. If he can't knock out the 38-year-old Marquez, it will easily be the most disappointing point in Pac-Man's career.
Marquez, on the hand, needs to beat Pacquiao to keep his career trending upward. The 38-year-old has already recently (in boxing time) lost to Floyd Mayweather, and a loss to Manny Pacquiao would mean he's no longer on par with boxing's elite. He's going to have to sustain Pacquiao's likely early flurry, then counter with his own array of punches.
No matter what way you look at it, neither of these fighters can afford to lose this match. And neither can afford to not knock the other out.
They will come into this fight like their lives depend on it, and in a way, their professional lives do depend on it.
Each boxer will be looking for the knockout early and often, and because of that, this match will be paced with heart-pounding action. It's going to be the complete opposite of the first two fights. Neither man will be able to rest, as they will go after each other with speed and vengeance.
The speed and desperation of Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manual Marquez will result in one of the best fights in recent memory. And rest assured, it will end before the 10th round.
