Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: Spread Info, Line and Predictions

Michael DixonNov 4, 2011

One of the NFL's best rivalries will take center stage again on Sunday when the Baltimore Ravens travel to Pennsylvania to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC's Sunday Night Football.

This is a rematch from the first week of the season when the two teams met in Baltimore and the Ravens embarrassed the Steelers, 35-7.

The Steelers have responded from that loss and sit at 6-2, which is one-half game better than the 5-2 Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North.

Sunday's game will also be a rematch of last season's AFC Divisional Playoff game in Pittsburgh. The Ravens led that game 21-7 at halftime, but lost 31-24. The Steelers went on to win the AFC Championship game.

Where: Heinz Field. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

When: Sunday, Nov. 6 at 8:20 p.m. EST

Watch: NBC

Spread

Steelers are at minus-3.5, according to Bodog. Everything about this game is going to be close. But I like this spread. At home, Pittsburgh's big play ability should put them over the edge.

Over/Under

According to Bodog, it's 42. I expect big plays from the defenses of both of these units. But I expect this one to go over that number.

Call it a hunch on my end, and you're certainly free to disagree, but I like the over.

Key Injuries

Ravens LB Dannell Ellerbe and WR Lee Evans are out.

Ravens RB Anthony Allen, CB Chykie Brown, G Ben Grubbs and WR David Reed are questionable.

Steelers G Doug Legursky, WR Emmanuel Sanders and LB LaMarr Woodley are out.

Steelers LB James Farrior and WR Hines Ward are questionable.

Fantasy Big Plays

Steelers receiver Antonio Brown has had a great couple of weeks. While the attention is on Mike Wallace, look for Ben Roethlisberger to go at Brown.

Ravens receiver Torrey Smith is also a nice play. Basically, the reason I think this game will be high scoring is that I expect these teams to make big plays. Torrey Smith is averaging better than 20 yards a catch this year. He's a good play.

Keys to Ravens Win

They need to give Joe Flacco time to throw. The Steelers pass-rush is very strong and Flacco is not having a good year. He'll be in trouble facing the Pittsburgh rush.

Keys to Steelers Win

Rashard Mendenhall needs to run the ball well. The Ravens defense is always a great unit, but if the Steelers can at least establish a presence at the line on the offensive side of the ball, they have much better big-play ability than the Ravens.

Prediction: Steelers 27, Ravens 20

Again, it's a hunch, but I think we'll see more points in this one than these defenses typically allow. I like a big play or two from Ben Roethlisberger to Mike Wallace to set the Steelers apart here. At home, the Steelers will get some revenge from Week 1's loss.
