Week 9 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Plaxico Burress and Best Flex Options

Eric BowmanNov 4, 2011

Fantasy football is all about matchups, as well as making the smart lineup adjustments for the right positions. A kicker, defense and flex position can make a huge difference against your opponent, but if you choose the wrong player, it could hurt you in the end.

The flex position is one of the most difficult choices to make, because in most leagues, you have the option of picking a running back or receiver (some allow the tight end, but those are strange and obscure leagues).

Here are the three best flex options for Week 9. As always, feel free to leave a comment with any fantasy advice you might need.

Plaxico Burress, WR

The New York Jets will have to use the passing attack to keep up with the surging Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and Mark Sanchez will continue to look Plaxico's way.

He's had some rough weeks, but after some much-needed rest during the bye week, Plaxico will put up another great game.

The Jets are in a must-win situation, and Plaxico will help them get the victory of their division rival.

Michael Bush, RB

Darren McFadden is unlikely to play on Sunday, which means Bush will be the go-to guy. The Raiders offense was atrocious in their last game, but they have regrouped during their bye, and they will be better.

It certainly helps that Oakland is taking on a subpar defense in the Denver Broncos. The quarterback situation is rough out in Oakland, which is why the run game will be heavily relied upon.

Bush will get the bulk of the carries, and he will produce well for his fantasy owner, which is why he's a solid flex option.

Eric Decker, WR

Tim Tebow has struggled big-time in the last two weeks, but he'll be better against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. After all, third time's a charm, right?

Decker is Tebow's top target and best deep threat. Starting Decker is a huge risk, but the reward will be worth it.

The Raiders pass defense is 24th in the league, and even though Tebow isn't a great passer, he and Decker will connect on the deep ball, which will result in a solid fantasy day.
