WWE Survivor Series 2011: 5 Superstars Who Could Make Their Return at the PPV

Drake OzNov 2, 2011

Survivor Series could very well wind up being known as "The Pay-Per-View of Returns."

There are a number of current and former WWE stars who are either rumored to be returning to the WWE soon or would simply fit perfectly into the company's current storylines.

And what better way for them to return in a huge way than by doing so in Madison Square Garden?

With the WWE looking to rebuild Survivor Series as one of its premiere pay-per-views, I think you'll see them pull out all the stops at this year's show.

That means at least one memorable return (if not more).

Here are five superstars who could make their triumphant return to the WWE at Survivor Series (listed in order from least likeliest to likeliest, in my opinion).

Honorable Mention: Michelle McCool

1 of 6

Michelle McCool is probably enjoying her time off by sitting at home and being Mrs. Undertaker, but I find it to hard to believe that she's done with the WWE for good.

She's still only 31 years old, she was at the top of the company when she retired earlier this year and the WWE recently reached out to her about a possible return.

McCool probably doesn't need the money, and she likely isn't missing all the wear and tear on her body. But I could still see her returning to the WWE, especially when she's essentially guaranteed a top spot in the Divas division.

We always see wrestlers who call it quits early get that urge to get back in the ring, and McCool—who teased a WWE return earlier this year—may already be getting it.

5. The Undertaker

"

As for the Undertaker, there are no plans for him to return to television in the immediate future. At this point, WWE officials are hoping he’ll be healthy enough in time to wrestle at WrestleMania 28 next April.

"

So, is The Undertaker's return at Survivor Series a long shot? Absolutely, it is.

But this could also be the WWE's way of throwing us so that we're all shocked when Taker returns, destroys Mark Henry and has one last run before retiring at WrestleMania next year.

OK, maybe not. But a man can dream.

4. Chris Jericho

3 of 6

I don't think anyone but Chris Jericho knows what Chris Jericho is going to do at this point.

He's constantly hinted that he isn't going to return to the WWE anytime soon, but a boatload of reports refute that claim, and Jericho hasn't really helped himself by consistently commenting on Twitter about WWE stars stealing his moves or his gimmick.

Of course, he's also taken a number of shots at CM Punk, causing all of us to gush about the possibility of a Punk/Jericho dream match at WrestleMania.

The question on all our minds, though, is why? Why is Jericho doing this?

It's likely that he's just teasing us like he's known for doing, but it's also possible that he's doing so to set up for what would be a huge return in the near future.

Maybe at Survivor Series?

3. Shawn Michaels

Many of us were holding out hope that Shawn Michaels would make an appearance at Vengeance, considering that the pay-per-view took place in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas.

But that didn't happen, so now we've set our sights on Michaels returning at Survivor Series.

Perhaps more than any other star on this list, a Michaels return makes a ton of sense given the current storyline between Triple H and Kevin Nash.

Let me put it to you this way: If your two best friends were in the middle of a long and bitter fight, wouldn't you step in and stop it?

Exactly.

2. Mick Foley

5 of 6

Much like Chris Jericho, we seem to be getting a ton of mixed signals about Mick Foley's WWE return.

He was advertised to appear on the Nov. 14 edition of Monday Night Raw, was eventually pulled from those advertisements and even said he hadn't been in contact with the WWE. Currently, he's not advertised to appear on the show.

So, what's going on exactly? I have no idea.

But I'm rather confident that Foley is headed back to the WWE at some point, and it will either happen on Nov. 14 on Raw or on Nov. 20 at Survivor Series.

As long as he's back, I don't care either way.

1. Kane

6 of 6

WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS A MINOR SPOILER FROM THIS FRIDAY'S SMACKDOWN!

Kane has been out of action since July when Mark Henry "broke his leg" and put him on the shelf, and now Henry is wrestling Kane's former tag team partner The Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series.

Coincidence? I think not.

The Big Red Monster is due for a return at anytime now, and if he doesn't come back on an episode of Raw or Smackdown prior to Survivor Series, then you can almost bank on him doing so at the pay-per-view.

He just better make sure he grabs a Bic and takes care of this mess before he does so.
