Arsenal FC: Why Jack Wilshere Will Become One of England's Premiere Midfielders
Once upon a time, Jack Wilshere was just another Arsenal youngster on the reserves. But, last season, the young gunner was given a chance to prove himself. He quickly attracted Arsene Wenger's attention and earned a spot in the starting lineup.
He wasn't much of a goal-scorer, but he managed to impress with his other skills and tricks. So basically knowing all this, I will be analyzing his main skills and talent, and will be talking about his potential as a player.
As soon as Wilshere was noticed by the world of football, he was compared with former teammate Cesc Fábregas. This was because of Wilshere's ability to make good passes. It is alright to compare the two players; one is a youngster growing in talent, while the other is one reaching his prime.

Right now, Wilshere passes well; he knows what he wants to get out of his passes.
But, the only thing he lacks is experience. Over the summer, the Englishman was played a lot in the preseason games, and he had various international fixtures.
Wilshere is just 19 years old. He doesn't have the capacity to play so many matches in a short period of time. It is something that will come with time. As a result of his large playing time, he sustained an ankle injury.
Returning back to Wilshere's attributes; his dribbling skills have already proven to be quite something. Of course, his dribbling skills aren't close to those of Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, but Wilshere's certainly are good.
His dribbling will improve with time; as mentioned earlier, experience will come. Basically, Wilshere's overall talent as an athlete will improve with time.
Wilshere hasn't scored on many occasions, but his goals have been nice. Many of his goals have been made with the development of passes. But usually, he hasn't taken it to the goal himself. He definitely has made some shot attempts, some of which have come very close.
There was one match last season where Wilshere had two straight shots; both of them hit the crossbar disappointingly. His left foot is one cannon when it comes to shooting.
Wilshere just needs to improve his shooting; he needs to practice a lot.
With that improvement, his confidence will build up. And with that build up in confidence, Wilshere will take more shot opportunities. With that, Wilshere will score more goals and become more of a goalscorer.
Wilshere's defensive skills are good; they will become more efficient as he grows into his 20s and builds up strength.
It is good for him to play in a midfield position near Alex Song. Despite Song's booking issues, his strength is extremely useful on the defensive end. With a player like that near Wilshere, the Englishman can pick up some of Song's skills.
Fast-forwarding to now, Wilshere is in the process of recovering from his ankle injury, and is expected to resume his performances in January or even February. This period of recuperation will be good for him to regain his skills.
When he resumes, it will be crucial for him to regain his good form. If he doesn't, then his potential to become a world-class midfielder shrinks. I doubt that it will happen, but it is a possibility.
Ultimately, Wilshere has all the necessary beginnings to become a great player. With time, all those skills will be enhanced, and he will become a star. He knows what he wants to do whenever he passes or dribbles. With experience, I can see Wilshere as one of the best midfielders in the EPL.
Who knows, he could even become one of the best midfielders in the world.
