Carolina Panthers: Why Cam Newton Will Bring Panthers a Super Bowl Title
The Carolina Panthers took Cam Newton with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, and he will bring the team a Super Bowl title in the next several years. Newton was a very controversial pick, but the Panthers appeared to have their mind set on him in the weeks leading up to the draft, and they clearly made the right decision.
The Panthers took a risk on Newton, and if you just heard what the critics were saying you'd think he should have been a second or third round pick. The myths surrounding Newton all appear untrue, and he is going to bring this team a Super Bowl.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
By debunking these myths Newton has shown that he will be a superstar in this league.
Myth No. 1: He won't be able to pick up an NFL offense
Coming from a "simplistic" offense in college with the Auburn Tigers, many NFL scouts doubted Newton's ability to play at the next level.
Newton was working the spread offense from the shotgun, and most did not expect him to be able to play under center or stay within the pocket.
Newton also ran plays that were called from coaches on the sidelines in college, and no one knew if he could run audibles, but most critics immediately said that he would not be able to.
Newton has emphatically proved the critics wrong, and he looks more comfortable in an NFL offense than he did in college. He is taking snaps from behind center well, and he is certainly running the Panthers offense effectively, proving that it is not too complicated for him.
Myth No. 2: He will struggle to throw the ball instead of running
Most experts pegged Cam Newton as the next Tim Tebow in the fact that his accuracy would be atrocious and he would run the ball too often. That has not been the case.
Newton's accuracy is very good, completing more than 60 percent of his passes, and he has proved that he can be a pocket-passer.
Newton is not a run-first quarterback either, as he exhibited in his first two games, throwing for 422 and 432 yards respectively. He does run the ball well, as he has already tied the record for rushing touchdowns for a rookie quarterback at seven, and he has averaged 38 rushing yards per game through seven games. However, he is a pass-first quarterback who is always looking downfield instead of thinking that he has to run the ball.
Newton's athletic ability has not gotten in the way of him passing the ball, as the Panthers average the fifth-most passing yards per game because of Newton.
Myth No. 3: His ego will hold him back
I don't know the genius who thought of this, but he looks like an idiot now. Newton speaks softly and carries a big stick, and he does not seem to have an ego at all.
When asked about his development Newton could have said that he is the best rookie quarterback in history, and most people wouldn't have argued. He already has the two best single-game passing performances by a rookie quarterback, and he has averaged more than 300 yards passing per game in the first seven games. Instead, Newton had this to say:
""This is a team game, so it's not about me or what I do." ESPN
"
Instead of focusing on himself Newton has focused on the team. Despite having one of the greatest rookie seasons of a quarterback Newton is focused on winning, and he is not happy with a 2-5 start.
Newton is exactly what you want in a quarterback, and he will be the leader of the Panthers for years to come.
Instead of being the next JaMarcus Russell and being a huge bust, Newton has proved the critics wrong, and he looks like a legitimate leader for the Panthers. He is not afraid to take a hit for his team, and he will put his body on the line in order to win.
Now that the Panthers have found a star of a quarterback they can be competitive for years to come. The Panthers have not had a lot of success because they did not have a quarterback. Now they have Newton leading them, DeAngelo Williams in the backfield and an improving defense.
Panther fans will have to wait another season or two so the rest of the team can figure it out, but the Panthers are going to win a Super Bowl under the leadership of Cam Newton.
