Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups: Early Doucet and WRs You Must Own
The wide receiver position is hard to fill in spots, when you need someone to fill in a hole during a bye week or when one of your receivers go down to an injury. But, it can be done, as receivers like Giants’ Victor Cruz, Patriots’ Deion Branch and Bengals’ A.J. Green were all free agent finds during this season.
After seven weeks of the NFL season, the waiver wire is getting very slim when trying to find a replacement. But, there are three receivers out there that can, and will, fill in a crucial spot this week.
Pick these people up once you are done reading this column.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Early Doucet, Arizona Cardinals
Doucet, is the receiver that is getting a lot of fantasy points on this Cardinals team in the last few weeks. But, he will never get the same love by fantasy owners because he plays next to one of the best receivers in the NFL today, Larry Fitzgerald.
But, this week the Cardinals play a Ravens team that is coming off a bad loss at Jacksonville. Now, we aren’t here to say that the Cardinals’ will win this game, because they won’t, but Arizona will have to throw the ball a lot in a comeback effort, and it will lead to Doucet getting a lot of targets.
He won’t win your fantasy game by himself, but he will get you between nine-to-twelve points with six receptions, 65 yards and a touchdown.
Jabar Gaffney, Washington Redskins
Jabar is the new No. 1 receiver on this Washington team, as Santana Moss is now hurt with a broken hand. Redskins’ QB John Beck is not Aaron Rodgers, but he will look at Gaffney a lot in this game against Buffalo.
This Bills defense is not the best in the NFL, so it will give him a lot of chances to find open spaces to make a lot of catches and grab a good number of yards.
If you take a chance on Jabar, you can expect five receptions, 85 yards and a touchdown.
Michael Jenkins, Minnesota Vikings
Owning a Minnesota Vikings player that is not named Adrian Peterson is a huge risk. But, after a game-and-a-half of action for QB Christian Ponder, it looks as if Jenkins is his go-to guy.
This week, against a bad Carolina Panthers’ secondary, he has a chance to have a big day, as this game will have the Vikings playing catch up to this Panthers offense.
If you put Jenkins in your lineup, you can expect a game of seven receptions, 105 yards and two touchdowns.
These are three receivers that will fill in needed spots on your lineup that are either caused by injuries or a bye week. Give them a start and then drop them whenever someone is healthy again or is back from a bye week.
