Indianapolis Colts Nonexistent in Record Loss to New Orleans Saints
Someone forgot to tell the Indianapolis Colts there was a game tonight against the New Orleans Saints. They were spectators in the 62-7 loss rather than participants.
How does it get this bad this quickly? These teams just met two Super Bowls ago.
It's time now to fire head coach Jim Caldwell and get him as far away from the NFL as possible.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
How bad does it have to get being exposed does it take for you to coach and make some changes?
62-7.
Really?
This team isn't as bad as the score reflects. The Colts have playmakers and I don't care what all of you so-called experts have to say.
How does a team with so much Pro Bowl talent get beat this bad?
They're just not getting coached and put into bad schemes with no adjustments.
It looked like it was going to be a good game at the start for the Colts ,who were 12-5 all time on Sunday Night Football entering the game.
It very well could have been 7-0 on the first play from scrimmage when Curtis Painter did a beautiful play-action fake to Joseph Addai and threw it long to Pierre Garcon. The only problem was Painter under-threw him and Garcon coldn't pull in the catch.
The Colts made some good plays with the no-huddle and Painter changing the plays at the line, but the latter came to bite them.
When Painter was changing a play near midfield on third down, the play clock was running low and Colts guard Joe Reitz tapped center Jeff Saturday to snap the ball. The problem was Painter wasn't looking and the ball bounced off Painter's chest and the Saints recovered.
Six plays and 2:59 seconds later, the Saints scored on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees to Marques Colston in a jump ball over Colts corner Jerraud Powers. It was Brees' 34th straight regular season game with a touchdown pass.
The next Colts possession the offensive line didn't block well and forced the Colts to punt.
The momentum the Colts tried to start with was now lost.
The Saints got a big gain on a screen pass to Pierre Thomas that set up another touchdown pass to Colston. That was his second on the night. That was another six-play drive, but it only took 1:39 seconds this time.
On the Colts' third possession rookie running back Delone Carter fumbled on the third play from scrimmage and Saints defender Cam Johnson recovered. It once again gave the Saints great field possession in starting on their own 48.
Horrible coverage by the Colts defense gave way to an eight-play, 52-yard touchdown drive capped by a Brees touchdown pass to Darren Sproles. It was the second straight touchdown pass in the red zone where the linebacker coverage was late to the ball.
That quickly it was 21-0 Saints. It was a franchise record for most first-quarter points for the Saints.
The next two Colts possessions ended in three-and-outs while the Saints' ended in putting points on the scoreboard once again.
The fourth Saints possession ended on fullback Jed Collins' second touchdown of the season with a one-yard run on horrible tackling on the Colts' behalf. Colts corner Kevin Thomas got beat a couple of times to set up the touchdown drive.
The next Saints possession the Colts finally got pressure on Brees and Colts defensive lineman Tyler Brayton got the first sack of the game for the Colts. That set up the first third down of the game for the Saints. They ran 30 plays and none of them were a third down play. The Colts ran horrible coverage and of course let the Saints convert. They actually forced another third down on the possession, but New Orleans was able to convert once again.
Once the Saints got inside the red zone the Colts were able to finally stop them and hold them to a 23-yard field goal.
After both teams' first five possessions the score was 31-0 Saints.
On the sixth possession for the Colts they finally showed some fight. Carter made a 42-yard hard-fought run. The drive ended on a three-yard Carter touchdown run, his second of the season.
The Saints got the ball before half and they came out trying to score instead of playing the clock game.
Take notes, Caldwell.
The Colts stopped the Saints on first and second down but gave up another first down on third down to Sproles. One play later Colston got open in the middle of the field and set up a big gain in the air. The Saints were now content for a 47-yard field goal as time expired to send them to a 34-7 halftime lead.
The Saints received the ball coming out of half and the Colts defense once again showed little resistance in giving up a 10-play, 75-yard drive that lasted 5:44 seconds. The drive was capped by Brees' favorite target, tight end Jimmy Graham, catching his fourth touchdown pass of the season on a nine-yard reception in the red zone, giving the Saints a 41-7 lead.
The Colts needed to make adjustments at half and build on their last possession. Saints coach Sean Payton was eating hot dogs in the booth instead of going to the locker room, for crying out loud.
The next two drives ended in three-and-outs.
That's why Caldwell needs to be fired ASAP. He doesn't adjust.
The Saints did whatever they wanted on the next possession and it ended with the same result, a Graham touchdown reception in the red zone. After an 11-play, 60-yard possession the Colts had the same defensive scheme.
Why?
They're now up 48-7.
Their first two possessions two touchdowns and the Colts two three-and-outs.
The Saints got the ball back for their third possession of the half and benched Brees. You would have thought his would have helped a bit.
Nope.
Once again, the Saints only needed six plays to reach the end zone. The drive was capped by a 12-yard run by Sproles.
The Colts got the ball back, but on the first play from scrimmage Painter threw his second interception of the year and Leigh Torrence was on the receiving end of it. Torrence returned it 42 yards for a touchdown, bringing the score to 62-7.
That ended up being the last score of the game.
The Saints' 62 points was the most since 1999. It was also the most points given up in Colts franchise history.
The Colts take their 0-7 record to end the three game road trip to Tennessee next week to take on the Titans, who lost 41-7 to the Houston Texans.
Hopefully there will be a change in coaching
