Week 7 Fantasy Football Projections: Tony Romo and Players That Won't Disappoint
From a fantasy perspective, it's hard to imagine a much tougher week as it relates to byes.
Look at it this way—the Patriots are on a bye. When you consider how many weapons that team has, that alone is pretty significant. But it doesn't stop there, as the Bills, 49ers, Bengals, Giants and Eagles are also all off this week.
So, unless you have a fantastic team, it's hard to imagine too many scenarios where it would be advisable to bench a big-name player. Even if their matchup is not great, the other options are just not that vast this week.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Still, some stars will be better than others. Take a look at some names that may not fit the classic great mold that are in for a huge week.
Romo is currently eighth in the NFL in passing yards, but even that statistic is deceptively bad. All seven quarterbacks ahead of Romo have yet to have their bye week—Romo has.
I understand that Romo's leadership ability can be questioned. It's a ridiculous argument, but it's not baseless.
But fantasy-wise, this guy is a giant. With the exception of the Redskins' game, when he had a depleted group of receivers and a makeshift offensive line, he's thrown for 300 yards in every game this year. Romo even managed 255 yards in that game.
The Rams defense is virtually nonexistent when it comes to defending the pass. A 300-yard, three-touchdown performance is easily attainable.
Actually, if that happens, I would tip my cap to the Rams on a job well done.
Michael Turner
Turner has been an inconsistent back this year.
Sure, he's had three games when he rushed for 100 yards or more. But in the other three games, he's hit 70 yards just once. That can't instill a lot of confidence in fantasy owners.
But Frank Gore smoked the Lions for 141 yards on only 15 carries last Sunday. The previous Monday, Matt Forte rushed for 116 yards on 22 carries.
The Lions defense is just not that hard to run on. Turner has a realistic shot at being the week's top running back.
Reggie Wayne
If the Colts are going to get any better this season, they need to find a way to get the ball to their playmakers. Reggie Wayne is certainly one of them.
The Saints have not done a great job against the pass this year. At their best, the defense gets a lot of interceptions, but that doesn't really hurt receivers.
What helps receivers is the fact that even when the Saints are at their best, they allow a lot of yards.
Consider that, and consider that the Colts will likely be playing from behind in this one. It's only a matter of time before Wayne finally has a big game with someone other than Peyton Manning throwing to him.
