Fantasy Football Week 6 Projections: Felix Jones and Best Flex Options
Generally speaking, the flex position is dedicated to any offensive player other than the quarterback. That deviates a little bit from league to league, but since that's standard, that's where my focus is going to be.
My guess is that these players aren't good (or consistent) enough to have as regular starters at their own positions. The flex is generally more of a gamble spot. You don't necessarily know what you are going to get from it, but it could win you a week.
Take a look at these guys for this week. The potential is there for a big day.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Felix Jones
Jones is dangerous whenever he touches the ball. So, he doesn't need to get a lot of touches to get big yardage.
He's a capable pass catcher and rusher. Also, if your league counts return yards, Jones is a strong play.
All in all, Jones is just a really solid option. With the exception of Week 2 against San Francisco, he has had at least a decent performance every week this year. If he's not one of your starting backs, Jones is an easy flex play.
Kendall Hunter
Unless you're really thin at running back, Hunter is probably not worthy of that position on your team. He doesn't get a lot of carries, especially with an emerging Frank Gore.
But Hunter is a big play scat back that can actually play a Darren Sproles role for the 49ers. If he can do that, he's a fantasy giant.
Hunter seems to be good for one big play a game. If he can do that and possibly score a touchdown, a very nice points day awaits.
Aaron Hernandez
Hernandez is the only tight end on this list; he's also the only player that doesn't fit the classic, big play guy mode.
But what Hernandez has going for him is that he plays in a lethal offense that's in position to score a lot.
The yardage totals may be a little iffy, but the overall potential makes Hernandez an excellent flex option.
Percy Harvin
I will admit that Harvin's playing time and numbers make him a bit of a risky play. He's sort of an all-or-nothing candidate.
But all-or-nothing is pretty worthy of a flex spot. I like Harvin's chances of pulling a big play off against the Bears' defense.
The Bears are not a great passing defense. Also, I think that the Vikings will be playing from behind on Sunday. That means that they will be passing, and Harvin is going to get some of those passes.
Do you believe in the Redskins? Do you believe that the Eagles are as bad as they have looked? Enough doubts exist in this one.
While they haven't looked especially impressive, the Eagles' secondary has potential to shut their opponent down.
But Moss is a genuine big-play target. The Redskins have played well this year, and the Eagles haven't. If you have Moss on your team, find a way to get him in the lineup.
