Liverpool vs Manchester United: Should LeBron James Suit Up for Reds?
LeBron James should avoid being on the pitch at all cost.
King James is one of the best basketball players in the world, and he is one of the most athletic players in the world, but that won't translate to success on the pitch.
LeBron would have no idea how to compete on the soccer field. Soccer players are some of the most conditioned athletes in the world and have proven that a transition to soccer does not come easy.

The last athlete that tried a transition to soccer, albeit somewhat jokingly, was Chad Ochocinco.
As you can see, that didn't exactly go over so well. The thing was that Ochocinco actually had a lot of experience playing soccer growing up, and at one point he wanted to be a professional soccer player.
James is much more inexperienced, and while he is more talented, he won't be in soccer shape and would struggle mightily. Of course, he is likely fast enough to keep up with many of these players, but speed isn't everything in soccer.
Unlike the NFL, James hasn't flirted with being a professional soccer player. James has recently discussed joining the NFL with both John Clayton and Pete Carroll via Twitter.
Who wouldn't love to see James at least try another sport during the NBA lockout, especially if the entire season is lost? It would at least be fun to watch, and while he may not succeed in either soccer or the NFL, someone would surely be willing to take him in and give him a tryout.
If LeBron has to pick between soccer and football, he should hit the gridiron, where he can better utilize his size and skill set to be competitive. Whoever brings him in might want to consider leaving him on the sideline during the fourth quarter, though, as he has a tendency to fumble the game away.
