Dana White Says Brock Lesnar "Will Never Wrestle for the WWE"
After learning Brock Lesnar would appear in in the WWE next installment WWE '12, UFC president Dana White was more than willing to allow him the opportunity.
Lesnar was also open to the idea of returning to the squared circle for one more match in the future. However, White wasn't too keen on the idea and immediately put the former WWE star's wrestling aspirations in doubt.
"He came from the WWE. I would have no problem with him making any kind of a deal with the WWE as far as merchandising goes," White told FightersOnly.co.uk.
"If next weekend he wanted to wrestle with the WWE, that’s a different story. Brock Lesnar will never wrestle for the WWE while he's under contract to me. But to be in their video game? That's part of his history."
Lesnar was one of the WWE's biggest draws while competing under the organization from 2002-04. Dubbed as "The Next Big Thing," Lesnar would go on to achieve massive success, which would lead to him carrying the company for the early part of the decade.
Lesnar's mainstream appeal allowed him to crossover into mixed martial arts when he signed with the UFC in 2007, where he has also gained instant fame and success, capturing the UFC heavyweight title in just three professional bouts.
The former UFC heavyweight champion still remains popular among the wrestling community, which helped the UFC boss give Lesnar his blessing. White said he sees it as an opportunity for Lesnar to continue building his image as a marketable athlete, and as a result, doesn't cause any financial harm to the UFC.
"What does it hurt me if the guys is in the video game? Brock gets to make some money on the WWE side, they make a great game and Brock is in it," he said. "It doesn't affect me or my business personally and it helps my athlete.”
