Arsenal Update: Theo Walcott and Other Bits
A late post today fellow Arseurs, and there's not a whole lot to tell you about. It's International Week and it's those stories that are hogging all the headlines.
Our next game is quite far away—we play Blackburn at Ashburton on Monday, while Manure, Chelski play before us during the weekend. Chelski is also have a tough outing at Anfield this time round, and you would expect a few points dropped by Avram Grants team—wishful thinking maybe to a certain extent—but you wouldn't expect them to come out unscarred by the trip to Merseyside.
Young Theo Walcott has been in the news lately after he scored for the England Under-21s. He believes that he needs a good run of games in order to perform.

"You only get better by playing games, a consistent run of games that is," Walcott said. "I've got to work hard in training, take every game as it comes, perform well and I'll get that consistent run."
I guess he has a point there, I didn't watch him play in the Under-21 game at all. I just think with the way the strikers are performing at the moment at Arsenal, Walcott finds himself a little behind in the pecking order. He still has a lot to learn, and that is why Wenger is giving him game time, albeit not in his preferred position up top.
One thing with Wenger though is you know you will play if you are good, age irrespective. Theo for his part is being patient.
"I signed for Arsenal and didn't play for seven months, so that shows quite a lot of patience," he said. "But I've got to perform to play. I think my development is good. If I get a consistent run of games, I'll get better and better. I've got to perform and that's my main target—I'm trying to get a few more appearances for Arsenal."
Can't fault the attitude of the young man there, can you? Let's hope he turns into something good for us! And there's more from the teenager we signed from Southampton in this piece in the Telegraph.
While there is no complete confirmation to the extent of Flamini's injury, Arsene appears to be very upset over the timing of the International games especially after the midfielder was injured in the France B game and lasted only 17 minutes.
"That is one (round of internationals) you could do without," Arsene said.
We would definitely need the Flamster back in action to hound the midfield—fingers crossed now and hoping that Toure is back fit as well!
Meanwhile there is no update whatsoever on the RVP situation. You would have to say that RVP and Adebayor would be the first choice pairing up top. There is a more comprehensive look at all our players away on international duty and the updates and injuries and so on.
A Cultured Left Foot goes into the future and takes a look at all the ghastly things that await mankind as we turn into maneaters while the women somehow thrive, being the sexist beings that we are! Well, if you believed all that you've got another thing coming, as the piece is all about how Le Prof will be remembered in the context of the other great managers. Give it a go. I did, and didn't regret it in the slightest.
This post here by taltkingofarsenal.com pieces together some of Arsene Wenger's wittiest and most popular quotes. Just goes to prove that Le Gaffer can deliver with a mic in front of him as well!
And that's all folks!
