Tim Tebow: Why Denver's Favorite Son Should Finally Get Snaps at QB
Note to the Denver Broncos coaching staff: Tim Tebow deserves a chance.
Through the first four games of the 2011 NFL season, the Broncos are losers of three of the first four games, failing to get much production whatsoever from the quarterback position. Starting quarterback Kyle Orton has underachieved since taking on the starting role with the team.
Since taking over as the Broncos starting QB in 2009, Orton is just 12-21 and has lost seven of his last eight starts dating back to last year. This season Orton has thrown for eight touchdowns, six interceptions and has the Broncos at a 1-3 start to begin the year.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
To his credit, when it comes to production, the numbers are certainly there for Orton. He threw for 3,802 yards in 2009 and 3,653 last season while managing to throw plenty more touchdowns than interceptions. His real downside is his inability to finish out ball games, his lack of composure down the stretch of football games.
In their Week 4 game against the Green Bay Packers, Orton threw for 272 yards, three touchdowns and was picked off three times against the worst pass defense in the NFL.
Yes, the Packers might be undefeated, but they feature the worst pass defense in the NFL and ultimately Orton underachieved by making three big mistakes.
Tim Tebow has only had the opportunity to start three games for the team, finishing off what was a disappointing season to say the least for Orton and the Broncos. In those three starts, the Broncos went just 1-2, yet Tebow threw five touchdowns, three interceptions and 654 yards.
Winning one of three was quite impressive in his first three starts, as he went up against a streaking Oakland Raiders team and two solid squads in the Houston Texans and San Diego Chargers.
There is no question Tim Tebow has plenty to learn, and is a quarterback that has had to change a lot of his game in college to translate better as a player in the league. Yet that does not take away from his chances at succeeding in the league. The guy is a freak-athlete, a big-time competitor and more importantly, a winner.
Will Tebow be the answer in Denver? That is still yet to be seen. Yet does he deserve that chance as soon as this season? There is no question about it. The Broncos have invested too much time and interest in the Florida Gators star to not give him the rock. Expect the organization to make the right decision and give him some starts by the midway-point of the season.
