MLB Playoffs: Nyjer Morgan Is a Breath of Fresh Air in a Disingenuous Society
There has never been anyone in baseball like Nyjer Morgan. He is a breath of fresh air in a sport that is as conservative as the late George Steinbrenner.
Morgan had one of the biggest hits in Milwaukee Brewers' history when he singled home Carlos Gomez to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in the deciding game of the 2011 NLDS. His joy knew no bounds.
When TBS attempted to interview Morgan after the game, they didn’t realize that he was in his own world. Few individuals have ever been so euphoric.

When the TBS reporter stuck a microphone in Morgan’s face, he continued exhibiting his delirium by shouting, "[sic] yeah."
Those who run baseball, just as those who run America, cannot tolerate individuals who, knowingly or not, deliberately or not, flaunt their rules.
Money makes it acceptable for Viagra commercials during baseball telecasts to advise viewers that a doctor should be consulted by individuals who have an erection that lasts for more than four hours. Nyjer Morgan's words of joy are not acceptable. What a shame for the deciders.
In June, Morgan hit a game-winning double in the ninth inning to beat the New York Mets. Standing on second, Morgan became confused when everyone started to leave the field. He later explained,
“I thought it was the bottom of the eighth,” he said. "It’s probably a good thing that I thought it was the bottom of the eighth because I didn’t feel as much pressure. I guess it worked out as a good thing for us. I didn't even know what time it was.”
Morgan has four alter-egos. They are Tony Plush, Tony Hush, Tony Tombstone and Tony Gumble. They help keep the Brewers loose.
There are many roads to victory. Nyjer explained his.
"I can't sugarcoat it for anybody. This is who I am. I'm going to be out there, I'm going to go out and have fun.
"I might get under people's skin a little bit. But as long as it's for the right things and I'm out there hustling, doing what I am supposed to do to win for my organization, then I'm going to be me."
Brewers' manager Ron Roenicke has said that Morgan is a really good young man who is emotional and sometimes does things he shouldn’t do, but that he contributes greatly to the Brewers' clubhouse.
Ryan Braun, a nice Jewish boy from Mission Hills, California, loves what Nyjer brings to the team.
"We have fun from the time we get to the ballpark to the time that we leave. And I think it helps keep everybody loose. It really helps to keep our minds off of the magnitude of the games that we're playing," Braun said.
"We've done a really good job all year just showing up here, having a good time, laughing, smiling, talking trash and having fun."
Nyjer Morgan makes the establishment uncomfortable. That is the establishment’s problem
One of the greatest songs of all time says it all about Nyjer Morgan and others of his ilk.
"Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
liberal, fanatical, criminal."
"Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, presentable, a vegetable!"
