Fantasy Football Week 5 Rankings: Frank Gore and 3 Worst RBs
Starting RBs in fantasy football is tough because everyone has at least that one stud they can count on.
However, since most leagues start two or even have the option of a third RB, finding that second Brahma Bull takes some serious research.
Another big issue is that the NFL has become so pass-happy that pounding the rock isn't nearly as crucial anymore.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
But teams know that if they want to win they must run; unfortunately for the following three RBs, their offense struggles running the ball, let alone being multi-dimensional.
3. Willis McGahee, Broncos (vs Chargers)
It's the correct decision in Denver to have Willis McGahee as the starting RB, but the only problem is that the Broncos offense is so inconsistent that it's going to be difficult for him to get rolling.
Obviously Willis isn't a first RB option in fantasy, but he could be a solid second or third if the Broncos were even somewhat established at being multi-dimensional.
With San Diego at home this week, McGahee may play better than last week, but it's not going to be good enough to really give your team an edge. However, he may come in useful later on if Denver can get better running the football.
2. Frank Gore, 49ers (vs Buccaneers)
Prior to hitting 127 yards versus Philadelphia on the road in Week 4, 49ers' RB Frank Gore had compiled only 148 yards through the first three games.
And it doesn't get any easier in Week 5 despite being at home, because the Tampa Bay Bucs invade Candlestick Park and have only allowed a combined total of 92 rush yards the last two weeks.
If San Fran is to have success, it's going to be in the passing game, which is possible as Colts QB Curtis Painter was able to pick them a little bit.
As for Gore, however, don't count on him gaining any more than 50 yards this week because the Bucs front seven is very, very good.
1. Rashard Mendenhall (vs Titans)
Even if Rashard Mendenhall suits up this week (questionable with a hamstring injury), he won't be very productive as the Tennessee Titans have a top ten defense in both rush and pass yards allowed.
In addition, QB Ben Roethlisberger won't be 100 percent either, thus making the Steelers even less one-dimensional.
Also, fellow RB Isaac Redman has been getting his fair share of touches and has one TD to Mendenhall's two.
As for Week 5, keep Rashard on the bench if you can help it because he's not going to do much.
His best game this season was 78 total yards with one TD against the Seattle Seahawks. Therefore, if you play him don't be surprised when he disappoints.
