NFL Predictions Week 4: Mark Sanchez and 3 QBs Due for Bad Games

John RozumSep 28, 2011

These are the players that you know are bound to choke at some point after they've played so well for a few games.

After a few years of playing QB in the NFL, it comes to a point where either you have it or you don't.

The following three QBs have played well thus far in 2011, but are now due for a bad game.

Mark Sanchez

With each new season Jets' QB Mark Sanchez has been gradually improving under center, and his playoff performance is very good for as young as he is.

That said, Sanchez hasn't had his bad game yet this season despite throwing four picks, because he has six TDs to go with a completion percentage no lower than 59.1 percent.

However, he hasn't faced a defense like the Baltimore Ravens yet this year, a team which held him to 74 yards passing when they met in 2010.

Now, Sanchez will throw for more than 74 yards, but it's unlikely that he tops 150.

The Ravens defense is too good, and Sanchez still has a lot of proving to do.

Rex Grossman

Game three for Rex Grossman wasn't all that great, but it wasn't a bad performance either.

He out-played Dallas' Tony Romo, although the two QBs finished with almost as many yards as each other, Grossman had one TD pass, when Romo didn't have any.

And even though Grossman fumbled late in the game, it wasn't fault, as the offensive line began to lack in protection toward the end.

Only problem is, that average performance is going to carry over into Week 4 and Grossman is going to fall hard in St. Louis.

The Rams have a solid pass rush, are hungry for a win and Grossman has lost a bit of confidence after the loss in Dallas.

It will interesting to see how he responds, but right now the odds are significantly against him.

Even though the Oakland Raiders are going to win this game (upset alert), it's going to be because of RB Darren McFadden.

QB Jason Campbell isn't anything more than a game managing QB for the NFL's best rushing offense, and even though the New England Patriots have a bad pass defense, this week Bill Belichick will get them back on track.

Then, Campbell will finally have a bad game after three straight solid games.

In two of the games Campbell only hit over 100 yards—150 in one—so with an eager-to-prove-the-haters-wrong Pats' defense coming into Oakland in Week 4, it's reasonable to suspect that he will struggle.

However, Oakland will still manage to get the W as RB Darren McFadden becomes the Raiders' closer late in games.
