The NCAA 10: BCS & Heisman Update
One of these days they’ll give us a playoff, but for now we’re left arguing about who’s ranked where and who’s left out, etc.
Oklahoma got the huge win this weekend against the Red Raiders but are still on the outside looking in for the BCS Title game. For me, there is just no logical explanation as to why Oklahoma is not the second best team in the nation, if not the best, right now.
MY BCS TOP 10
My rankings are not how I predicted they would end up, nor are they how I think they might finish, but rather where I see them now, through games of November 22, 2008:
Rk | BCS | U/D | School | W | L | Notes |
1 | 1 | Up | Alabama | 11 | 0 | Don’t forget Auburn. |
2 | 3 | Up | Oklahoma | 10 | 1 | Did you watch that? |
3 | 4 | - | Florida | 10 | 1 | Still in the mix. |
4 | 5 | - | USC | 9 | 1 | Poor Notre Dame. |
5 | 2 | - | Texas | 10 | 1 | Sitting pretty at 2. |
6 | 7 | Dn | Texas Tech | 10 | 1 | Cotton Bowl? |
7 | 6 | - | Utah | 12 | 0 | Fiesta Bowl bound? |
8 | 9 | - | Boise State | 11 | 0 | Will they take two? |
9 | 8 | - | Penn State | 11 | 1 | Rose Bowl awaits. |
10 | 10 | - | Ohio State | 10 | 2 | BCS bowl in future? |
MY HEISMAN TOP 5
What goes in to selecting a Heisman winner? There are so many variables. Look here for my list of them.
My Heisman rankings are not necessarily who I think is the most talented or who has the most NFL potential (Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree would probably get the nod if that were the case). Rather, it is where I see the Heisman race as it stands now, based on how I think the vote would go.
Rk | U/D | Player | School, Pos. | Notes |
1 | Up | Sam Bradford | Oklahoma, QB | 3710 yds, 42 TD, 6 Int |
2 | - | Colt McCoy | Texas, QB | 3134 yds, 30 TD, 7 Int |
3 | Dn | Graham Harrell | Texas Tech, QB | 4438 yds, 39 TD, 6 Int |
4 | Dn | Tim Tebow | Florida, QB | 2114 yds, 22 TD, 2 Int |
5 | Up | Shonn Greene |
