Hulk Hogan and 9 Other WWE Superstars' Most Likely NASCAR Rides
Most WWE superstars are either too big or too wide (or both) to fit into the window of a current NASCAR-regulated Car of Tomorrow.
No matter. They still have rides that are destined for them, whether through personality or connection to a particular car.
Here are 10 superstars, past and present, who were destined to have a NASCAR ride if they had chosen racing as a profession.
CM Punk in Juan Pablo Montoya's No. 42 Target Chevrolet
1 of 10CM Punk, as his name suggests, is a punk.
Juan Pablo Montoya is currently NASCAR's biggest punk. He will wreck anyone at the drop of a hat, even if it has nothing to do with winning a race.
CM Punk could slip comfortably into the No. 42 Target Chevrolet, and no one would know the difference. Juan Pablo Montoya has not won this season.
All Montoya needs right now is a contract dispute, like CM Punk's current holdout with WWE, and the two would be a perfect match.
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper in Kyle Busch's No. 18 M&M's Toyota
2 of 10This is almost too easy. Both have the nickname "Rowdy."
It is not definitive whether Piper would jump into a car sponsored by candy, but knowing that the car driven by someone with the same nickname would probably be too enticing to forgo.
Shane McMahon in the No. 27 Menard's Chevrolet
3 of 10Shane McMahon's dad owns and runs the WWE.
Paul Menard's dad owns the Menard's franchise and just so happens to sponsor his son's NASCAR team.
Coincidence? This would be the first car that Shane McMahon would make a break for if threatened by anyone other than his sister.
Randy "Macho Man" Savage" in the No. 43 Ricard Petty-Affiliated Car
4 of 10Richard Petty drove for different manufacturers throughout his historic career.
No matter, the former "Macho King" would have climbed through whatever make of car "The King" was racing.
Also, a case can be made for the Honky Tonk Man. He would have identified with whatever car was associated with "The King," whether the context is rock 'n roll or racing.
The Rock in Carl Edwards' No. 99 Aflac Ford
5 of 10The Rock was the People's Champion and delivered the People's Elbow to anyone who desired to know what he was cooking.
Carl Edwards, while he does not attack anyone physically, is also a man of the people. A win by Edwards means an automatic visit into the stands to slap hands and celebrate a victory.
Hulk Hogan: It's a Tie
6 of 10Although "the Immortal" Hulk Hogan has taken on different personalities during his long and storied career, I deal here only with the WWF-era "Hulkamania."
He would jump into any car that was was colored in yellow and red and was American made.
Based on that logic, he is a prime candidate for Kurt Busch's No. 22 Dodge Pennzoil Charger or Kevin Harvick's No. 29 Chevrolet. Busch drives the current model, though Harvick drove the exact same car in 2010.
The colors of Hulkamania are immortal and cannot be disputed.
The Ultimate Warrior in Jeff Gordon's No. 24 Chevrolet
7 of 10Jeff Gordon, the "Rainbow Warrior," is a sure choice for the Ultimate Warrior. Aside from the name similarity, the Ultimate Warrior displayed a vast array of face-paint colors and tights when making his ring appearances.
I am not sure that the Ultimate Warrior would ever need to get behind the wheel of a race car. He always entered the ring at 200 miles per hour; therefore, why waste the gas money?
Stone Cold Steve Austin in the Blue Deuce
8 of 10Stone Cold is pictured here giving the call to start engines for a race. Interestingly, he would be a perfect fit for a particular race car:
The Blue Deuce—which, if you are unfamiliar with racing history, has been the car sponsored by Miller Lite for a long, long, time.
Regardless of driver, it is always No. 2—hence, the Blue Deuce.
Steve Austin's habit of cracking beers meshes well with the theme of this car. It is one of the last true "beer wagons" in NASCAR.
Who else could better represent this historic ride?
Jeff Jarrett in Jimmy Johnson's No. 48 Chevrolet
9 of 10This is a bit of a stretch.
Jeff Jarrett paraded around the WWE as a country music wannabe. He wore a ridiculous 10-gallon silver cowboy hat with the initials "JJ" prominently emblazoned on the front.
If Jimmie Johnson ever wins again in Texas, it would be amusing to see him wear that hat.
The two men are more closely linked than meets the eye. Jarrett was a six-time Intercontinental Champion. Johnson is currently seeking his sixth straight NASCAR Sprint Cup championship.
It would be great to see Johnson wear a 10-gallon silver cowboy hat with the initials "JJ" after he won his sixth straight NASCAR Sprint Cup championship.
The Undertaker in Dale Earnhardt's No. 3 Goodwrench Chevrolet
10 of 10There is only one man who could step into Dale Earnhardt's car, and that is the "Dead Man" himself.
That is in NO WAY meant to be a pun on Dale Earnhardt's tragic death at Daytona in 2001.
Who else could step into the "Man in Black's" car? The Undertaker was the "Phenom" and the "American Badass." Both of these names are synonymous with Dale Earnhardt.
Dale Earnhardt was known as "The Intimidator." For most of his career, the Undertaker has been, more or less, the epitome of that name in his chosen profession
