Seattle Seahawks vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: TV Schedule, Radio, Game Time and More

Adam WellsJun 7, 2018

When the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2 of the 2011 NFL season, they will be out for some semblance of revenge after that embarrassing loss to the Ravens last week. In many ways this is a perfect game for them because the Seahawks look like one of the weakest teams in the NFL.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, underwent a lot of changes in the offseason and do not appear to be a better team because of it. Tarvaris Jackson looked like...well, like Tarvaris Jackson. He had moments where he looked like a capable starting quarterback, but most of the time he was lost against an average at best San Francisco defense.

But the Steelers showed last week that they are fallible, and the Seahawks, assuming they can get Sidney Rice back, can put up enough offense to keep the game close.

Where: Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

When: Sunday, September 18 at 1 p.m. EST

Watch: FOX (local affiliates), DirecTV 713

Listen: ESPN 710 AM/97.3 FM KIRO (Seattle); WDVE 102.5 FM/970 AM ESPN (Pittsburgh); Sirius Channel 93 (Pittsburgh)

Betting Line: Steelers (-15)

What's At Stake?

The Steelers have more on the line in this game because a 0-2 start in the AFC is a huge hole to have to dig out of, and considering the way that they lost last week, they are desperate for a victory to prove that they are still one of the elite teams in the NFL.

The Seahawks have the good fortune of playing in the worst division in North American professional sports, so even if they were to start 0-2 they would still have a chance. I don't see enough talent on this team to compete for a division title, but I would have said the same thing last season.

Seahawks' Injury Report

WR Sidney Rice missed last week's game against San Francisco with a shoulder injury, but the team has not given an update on his chances of playing this week.

RB Michael Robinson sprained his ankle against the 49ers and could miss up to two months

WR Ben Obomanu is listed as questionable after leaving last week's game when he took a hard shot from Donte Whitner.

Steelers' Injury Report

OT Willie Colon is out after undergoing surgery to repair torn triceps.

LB James Harrison is listed as questionable for this game after suffering a knee injury last week. He is expected to play.

Fantasy Start 'Em

Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers: After dropping the ball, literally and figuratively, last week, Big Ben is destined for a HUGE game this week against the Seahawks. The Steelers are going to open up the offense this week and fantasy owners that have Roethlisberger as their quarterback will reap the rewards.

Fantasy Sit 'Em

Marshawn Lynch, RB, Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks did not have any success running the ball against the 49ers last week, so do you really think that things are going to get better when they go into Pittsburgh against an angry Steelers' defense? Lynch is going to give you nothing this week, so keep him as far away from your starting lineup as you can.

Fantasy Sleeper

Isaac Redman, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers: If the Steelers are going to dominate this game like most people think that they will, the backups are going to get a lot of playing time. Redman will be the beneficiary of those extra carries and has the potential to break one or two big runs against this defense.

What They Are Saying

Steelers NT Casey Hampton told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, that he believes that last week's game was an aberration and things will get back to normal this week.

"

"I know what we're capable of doing when we play like we're supposed to play. I'm not taking nothing away from them because they whupped us but I know the answer's with us so that makes me feel good about it."

"

Seahawks' head coach Pete Carroll praised Tarvaris Jackson after the loss to the 49ers, but admitted that things could get worse before they get better.

"

"He's really unflappable out on the field," Carroll said. "It's a very, very strong characteristic that we're going to need for a while...It's going to take us some time to get comfortable in all settings. Hopefully, we can speed this thing up as much as possible."

"

Seahawks' Player To Watch

Tarvaris Jackson, QB: The Seahawks are going to go as far as Jackson takes them, and he has to have a great game against the Steelers if this team wants to have a chance to win. He had moments against San Francisco last week, but the Steelers' defense is an entirely different animal.

Steelers' Player To Watch

Rashard Mendenhall, RB: One reason that the Steelers' offense was so inept last week was because of their inability to run the ball and Mendenhall had just 45 yards on 12 carries. The offense is going to play better this week, because it would be hard to play worse than they did last week, and Mendenhall has to be a factor if this team wants to be a Super Bowl contender this season.

Matchup To Watch

Steelers' Defensive Line vs. Marshawn Lynch

The Steelers' vaunted defense gave up 170 yards on the ground, which is astounding because last year they only gave up 62 yards per game. They need to have a great day against the Seahawks to prove that they are still the best defensive front seven in the NFL. If Marshawn Lynch has a big game against them, those questions about their age will get even louder.

Prediction

Steelers 35, Seahawks 10
