Houston Texans Fans: Quit Over-Analyzing a Good Win
Obviously the second half of the Texans game against the Colts leaves a lot to be desired, but that doesn't matter. Alright, maybe it matters a little bit, but don't worry so much about it. The Texans just dominated the Indianapolis Colts. Now, re-read that last sentence. You should all be ecstatic.
Yes. Ben Tate fumbled. That is something he didn't do much of while at Auburn. In fact in 678 carries he fumbled nine times, and only lost six of those. If you compare that to Arian Foster, they actually fumble at about the same rate since Foster fumbled three times in 327 rushing attempts. Don't worry, Ben Tate is not like Adrian Peterson as a rookie, he is not Steve Slaton 2.0. Tate ran hard with 24 carries and 116 yards.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
That is fantastic.
Yes, the Colts are a bad run defense but Tate did exactly what you wanted him to do against a bad team. Disappointed that he didn't go for 231? Get out of here, you're crazy.
Yes, Matt Schaub threw two interceptions. They were both tipped. Schaub has 53-27 touchdown to interception ratio over the last two years. He isn't a quarterback that throws a lot of interceptions and this is not something that will be a recurring problem. Schaub controls the game and has the respect of his teammates.
What more do you want from your quarterback?
Yes, there were penalties in the second half. The Texans weren't perfect in the second half but at various times Gary Kubiak had rotated the second string players and no matter who you are it is impossible to ignore a 34-0 lead. It creeps into the psyche of a player just like it does for the fans. The only score that they gave up came off of Tate's fumble deep in Texans territory.
Yes, Peyton Manning was out. That doesn't mean you weren't facing the best opposing quarterback in the division. Collins is better than Hasselbeck, McCown, Gabbert or Locker. Obviously he's not Manning, no one except for maybe Brady is even close to that level, though. The division got easier when Manning went down. That is good news for the Texans, don't try to make it bad news.
Houston fans have too many scars from sports memories of the past to accept good things easily, but this should be one of them. Everyone remembers the Bills in '93, the Oilers leaving, the Rosencopter game and a hundred other examples of when we have been disappointed by our teams.
There is no denying that, but it doesn't mean it is going to happen again. Enjoy the ride while it is going good because there is no reason to believe that it will end badly.
