Christian: Worst World Heavyweight Champion in WWE History?!?!
A few points to make before I dive into this:
1. TNA's "World" title and "ECW" title do not count to me. Is R-Truth a former World champion? No. Is Mark Henry? No. Christian won his first World title at Extreme Rules 2011.
2. This column is only based on kayfabe terms, with a little "non-kayfabe" thrown in there.

Now, let's get to it!
Christian lost the World title to Randy Orton on Sunday's Summerslam, and I am of the belief that his days on top are likely over. This is coming from a huge fan of his, but it is time to move on from this current feud.
He won the title for the first time in his career in a ladder match (fitting) over Alberto Del Rio. It was a great match, and the moment was made even bigger by Edge being there for him.
Many fans cheered in approval and many tweets around the world came in to congratulate him. Again, why? Because it was his first World title win. Note the key word there: "first."
Of course, just days later, Orton won the title off of him in surprising fashion. Not surprising that Christian lost so quick, but surprising because it was on an unannounced episode of SmackDown.
The Twitter (social media) scene blew up over this revelation, and months later, I still do not get it.
It is like people expected Christian to get a long title reign or something. Wow!
Anyway, Christian and Orton followed up their SmackDown bout with many great back-and-forth matches before Christian finally won it back in July.
How did he win it? Yep, a weak DQ rule. No pin. No submission. Nothing—just like how he beat Del Rio at Extreme Rules.
Outside distractions and interference. No pinning. No tap-out win. Nothing like that at all.
Now that Christian had the title back around his shoulders for the second time in his career (note—second), all seemed to be fine with the "Christian Crew."
Just weeks later, it would all crumble down. After begging to get out of the SummerSlam No Holds Barred match, he was denied the request; the match took place as planned.
Yep! You guessed it. Orton beat him in a nice, long match—except the final minutes of that match were about as one-sided as I have ever seen a conclusion of a World title match be.
The message was clear: Christian was done main eventing for the time being.
This week's SmackDown show does not look any better for him, if you ask me. However, he is such a gifted performer, he can make anything work.
What didn't work?
Christian as a legit World champion.
I say legit because Christian played his role perfectly—a "transitional" champion.
Having picked up a few wins here and there (Sin Cara, Orton in a tag), he never screamed "World champion" to me. He looked like he was "holding" the title until Orton wanted it back.
That is exactly what happened.
I am predicting Christian will never again hold the World/WWE title in his career, and pardon me for even suggesting this, but when is Christian's contract up? I hate to speculate on one of my favorites' futures, but I have a bad feeling about the next couple of months.
They may be his last in WWE.
