Nnamdi Asomugha Agrees with Philadelphia Eagles: Irony at Its Best
It's over. The top free agent of 2011 has chosen which team he will sign with.
After three days of speculation, star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha has come to an agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter via Twitter (h/t ESPN News Services).
The top free agent has been rumored to be interested in signing with San Francisco, Dallas or the New York Jets; however, he pulled away from each of those teams just minutes prior to the announcement that he had signed with the Eagles.

Offseason Moves for Every Team 👉
Philadelphia wasn't even a team considered to be chasing Asomugha in recent days, so his agreement with the Eagles comes as a bit of a shock, because most reporters had closed off any other team outside of New York and Dallas.
It is reported that Asomugha's deal is for five years, worth $60 million and $25 million guaranteed.
Asomugha is not the only cornerback acquired for Philadelphia this offseason. They acquired Dominique Rogers-Cromartie during the trade that sent Kevin Kolb to Arizona.
It's very possible that with this acquisition, cornerback Asante Samuel will be dealt or released.
If Samuel stays, it's not quite the combo it would have been had Asomugha signed with the Jets and paired with Darrelle Revis, but it will be close.
That's all folks. The Nnamdi Asomugha chase is over. He's taking his talents to Philadelphia.
