WWE News: CM Punk Negotiates Contract with Vince McMahon on Monday
CM Punk has been the hottest talk of the wrestling world.
For several months, there were whispers about Punk's contract ending in July. Suddenly a few weeks ago Punk addressed the rumors on Monday Night RAW, confirming his contract was up after the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
The following week, Punk gave the biggest shoot promo of his career and possibly the history of the WWE. The shoot has been speculated for weeks as a work and many fans were convinced Punk had already re-signed with WWE.

Now word is coming from wrestlezone.com that Punk and McMahon will sit down to talk about Punk's future with the company. This is pretty significant, as prior to this, negotiations were with Punk and head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.
According their trusted source aka a "WWE insider": "Punk's contract has already expired, but he signed an extension through the pay-per-view in order to work the main event with Cena in Chicago."
As most fans know, Punk is originally from Chi-Town, chances are if he were to work his last WWE match he would want it to be in his hometown.
Their source added: "He's got a lot of star power, and it seems like WWE even resents him for it!"
This sounds like Punk has the ball in his court, as the WWE has lost some key veterans over the past year. I'm sure if Punk were an upper mid-carder, they wouldn't have the same concern about losing him. However, Punk is an amazing talent and his stock is very high right now. Essentially he could go anywhere he wants and bring that company some serious star power.
Keep in mind, the WWE has lost many stars over the span of its history and they have managed to survive. If they lose Punk it will sting, but they should overcome it, as they not only have talented scouts, but the best trainers in the game.
Regardless of how this plays out, Vinnie-Mac stands to make some serious money off of this storyline. I, like most, will be tuned in for what seemingly could be Punk's last WWE match. However, it may also be the biggest punk WWE has ever pulled off.
Either way, they should be applauded for the most compelling TV we have seen in a long time.
