What are sports without sports announcers, commentators and analysts?

    Well, they are still sports.

But, the fact remains that voices and sports go together like bread on butter, and there have been some moments in sports that have been solidified in history by someone’s voice laying that butter on real nice and thick.

There have also been some moments that have been completely butchered though, and that is what this list celebrates.

I have taken the liberty to extend the genre of funny voices into blown calls, meltdowns or even just ridiculous sayings during the call of a game. I’ve even thrown in a few really good impersonations that are worth taking a listen to!

Here are the 20 funniest voices in sports:

20. Mike Valenti

1 of 25

Being that I live in Detroit I have the honor of listening to sports talk on our local station 97.1 The Ticket.

Mike Valenti is one of the day time hosts. He is known for being the angry and bitter co-host that Detroiters love to hate.

This is an epic rant of his that got some national attention on an older show.

Here is the first part of the rant

Honestly, it doesn’t get any funnier than this as far as rants are concerned.

    Link to part two.

19. Joe Buck

2 of 25

Personally, I like Joe Buck as an announcer, but a lot of people can’t stand him.

    This is just embarrassing.

    What do you think?

18. Worst Announcer Ever

3 of 25

Now, please forgive me if this guy is indeed speaking another language.

But, come on what in the world is happening here!?

17. George Blaha

4 of 25

If you have ever listened to the call of a Pistons game than you know exactly what I am talking about right now.

He is easily one of the biggest homers you will ever want to find on the air, but he is also one of the funniest guys ever and is known for some pretty ridiculous catch phrases.

“COUNT THAT BABY AND A FOUL!”

16. Andy Gray

5 of 25

Maybe I’m the only one who finds Andy Gray to have a funny voice, but I think that anybody who has ever played FIFA would agree with me.

15. Tommy Smyth

6 of 25

I know that it’s just his accent, but let’s be honest to an “American football” fan, Tommy Smyth’s voice is part awesome and part hilarious.

14. Jim Rome

7 of 25

It is my opinion that Jim Rome is one of the better sports voices out there.

Tons of people rag on him because of the way he goes at his words though, and to be honest, he really does break down the syllabus like it’s his job.

    Phe-Noe-Me-Nel.

13. Craig James

9 of 25

James gives the south a bad name, and the north some more ammunition with that laugh of his.

And yes, I did just make a Civil War era reference.

12. Tom Thibodeau

10 of 25

I can admit that I have probably been watching way too many gangster movies lately, but honestly, I’m pretty sure that Thibodeau is in the mafia.

This has not been confirmed by Bleacher Report and is actually a joke.

Let’s nip that lawsuit right in the butt eh?

11.. Boom Goes the Dynamite

11 of 25

This guy HAS to be on the list.

One of the funniest sports moments ever, and yes folks, he did it all with his voice, or lack thereof.

10. Dick Vitale

12 of 25

    It’s awesome baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ugh puke…

9. Bill Walton

13 of 25

    Walton could butcher Shakespeare…

14 of 25

One of many awesome Frank Caliendo impressions.

8. Shaquille O'Neal

15 of 25

Is Shaq the best center the NBA has ever seen?

    Perhaps…

Does he have a very low voice that makes me giggle?

    Definitely.

7. Dwight Howard

16 of 25

Dwight Howard's voice by himself is pretty average, but for being a basketball player he is a phenomenal impersonator and deserves to be on this list.

The guy he's impersonating here just might show up on our list...

6. Lou Holtz

17 of 25

Please understand, in no way am I ragging on the guy.

He is older than most analysts and has overcome a speech impediment, yet somehow he still finds a way to talk on national television every week, and for that, I respect him.

But, let’s be honest, he is clearly talking gibberish right here.

5. Avery Johnson

18 of 25

I know that Johnson is relatively a little man, but come on!

His voice is so high and squeaky, it’s almost as if he has someone kick him in the groin and shove helium down his throat every morning to wake him up.

4. Charles Barkley

19 of 25

Barkley is literally one funny dude, and I’m pretty sure he’s the only reason TNT still has a halftime show.

His voice is epically hilarious though.

Some would even say that it’s terrible.

    You terrrrible knucklehead!

3. John Madden

21 of 25

Here is my John Madden impersonation in writing.

Bladflgbdfldasfsd Brett Favre dfsasdfhdskjjadsklghdhfdkdfhkdf BOOM adsfjsdfjfjhd and you see dasfjsdkfjdsfklsjfsadfsdkj BOOM adfskjadsfkjhsdff and that’s how you win the game!

    Boom!

2. Stan Van Gundy

23 of 25

Van Gundy’s voice cracks more than a 12-year-old boy talking to girl during recess.

He is very entertaining to watch when he gets angry.

You know how people say that Stan and Jeff Van Gundy are like Mario and Luigi…

    I see it.

1. Harry Caray

24 of 25

Ladies and gentlemen I give you…

    Harry Caray on Crackerjacks.
