Conor McGregor Denies Using 'Mind Altering Substances' Before UFC 329 Loss in Deleted Post
Conor McGregor isn't looking to make any excuses for his disappointing performance in his loss to Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 last Saturday.
In a now-deleted tweet, McGregor denied the notion that he used any "mind altering substances" before his first fight since July 2021, and he said he hasn't used any since suffering a right leg injury in the first round against Holloway that will require surgery.
McGregor even spent some time responding to fans on social media, doubling down on his assertion that he was in peak shape when he entered the Octagon:
Whatever the case may have been, McGregor's long-awaited return to fighting lasted just 69 seconds. He appeared to injure himself when he threw a jumping roundhouse kick in the opening moments of his fight against Holloway.
McGregor announced that he intends to make another comeback to complete the final fight of his UFC contract, but it's safe to say that he has a long road to recovery ahead of him.
