WWE, Profiling Future Stars, Part 11: FCW Superstar Peter Orlov

Ryan FryeJun 6, 2011

For weeks now, I have been profiling superstars from the World Wrestling Entertainment's Developmental Territory: Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).

These FCW Superstars have stood out from the rest of the pack, and many will become future WWE Superstars.

Today, I profile Peter Orlov.

Orlov has been in Ring of Honor, TNA and a couple of promotions in Mexico.

He was in TNA in 2008, while they were in a talent sharing relationship with CMLL, Orlov's promotion at the time. Orlov would compete in the TNA's World X-Cup. He was placed on Team International, under the name of Alex Koslov.

His team consisted of Tyson Dux, Douglas Williams and Daivari. After a couple of pre-tournament losses, most notably to Kazarian, Koslov and his team finished last in the World X-Cup.

This would mark Koslov's last appearance in TNA Wrestling.

After spending two years in AAA, Koslov left for Ring of Honor.

Koslov's first match was a loss to Internet darling and current WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan. Soon, Koslov became a glorified jobber, losing much more often than he won.

However, he won his last match against Rocky Romero, following controversy of one of their previous matches' finishes.

Finally, Koslov got a dark match against Alberto Del Rio. Although the fact he lost goes without saying, he competed under his real name of Carlos Sanchez.

After being sent to FCW, the WWE changed his ring name, likely because of Vladmir Kozlov.

As Peter Orlov, he took has taken on a heavy Russian gimmick. This is his bio from FCW's official site:

"Peter Orlov was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. Overcoming a troubled youth in the dangerous streets around the Kremlin, Orlov turned to the ring in order to focus his aggression towards a way to make a profit.

"Peter Orlov soon found he had a knack for a combination of technical grappling and aerial assaults, and began to train internationally, both in Japanese dojos, and the high-flying style of Mexican Lucha Libre.

Orlov has now set his sights on FCW, and the tri-lingual, highly intelligent Russian looks to make an impact that will make his country proud. Peter Orlov looks to show Mother Russia what her favorite son can do!"

Now, what can Orlov possibly do in the WWE?

He could compete under his old ring name, Alex Koslov, and either feud or team with Vladimir Kozlov.

It almost makes too much sense, doesn't it?

Otherwise, like most in this series, Orlov would be better fit to go to SmackDown as a heel. Possibly a feud with a veteran to help him adjust to the WWE's grueling schedule and training.

So, what do you think of Peter Orlov? Does he have what it takes to make it in the WWE?
