Dallas Cowboys Free Agency: 5 Free Agents Dallas Needs to Win the Super Bowl
Time and time again, Jerry Jones has attempted to recreate “America’s Team of the 90s” here in the 21st century.
Time and time again, he's failed as the Cowboys continue to stumble in the playoffs.
In 2010, their playoff hopes went up in smoke when the New York Giants broke Tony Romo’s collarbone at the beginning of the season.
However, after a stellar draft, the Cowboys are once again primed for a division title.
As always, it's going to be tough. The NFC East is one of the most competitive divisions in football, with the Giants and the Eagles bolstering their squads for the 2011 season, too.
Jones still has holes to fill on this team, but he's done a good job of securing the offensive line by selecting Tyron Smith and David Arkin in the draft.
Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Jones is certain to go hard after several free agents.
5. Darren Sharper, S

The Cowboys need to upgrade their secondary—something they failed to do during the draft.
This class was rather weak as far as ball-hawking safeties are concerned.
Darren Sharper, on the other hand, is one of the best in the league and is looking for a team to take a chance on him.
Just two years ago, he dominated as the leader of the New Orleans Saints team which won the Super Bowl. To the Cowboys, he can be a low-risk, high-reward player.
His presence in the secondary should help improve the cornerbacks.
They'll feel less pressure if the ball is in the air, knowing that Sharper has the instincts and ability to track it down and help them in coverage.
4. Barrett Ruud, LB

Sean Lee is a quality linebacker, but Barrett Ruud is the stud in the middle that Dallas needs.
Keith Brooking’s career is coming towards an end, and Jerry Jones needs a strong leader and sure tackler to anchor his second line of defense.
Ruud is the clear-cut top inside linebacker on the market.
Having drafted Bruce Carter to pair with DeMarcus Ware, Dallas need just one more linebacker to create one of the best units in the entire league.
3. Randy Moss, WR

Jerry Jones is always looking to make a splash and this could rival the signing of Terrell Owens from a couple of years ago.
Moss could come to Dallas and have the opportunity to dominate this league once again, as part of a contender.
He needs motivation to play hard, and there's no better motivation than a Super Bowl run and an opportunity to prove his quality to the rest of the league on one of the biggest stages in the league.
Moss could be a remarkable No. 2 receiver opposite Miles Austin. He could even take over the slot if Dez Bryant is controlling the outside.
With this move, Romo would have the best wide receiving corps in the game to target in every single game. The possibilities for Jason Garrett with these receivers would be endless.
Not one defense would be able to stop this offensive juggernaut.
2. DeAngelo Williams, RB

Generally speaking, if you can effectively run the football, you'll triumph more than you'll lose.
There’s a reason that teams with stout defenses and solid rushing attacks, despite poor quarterbacking, can still be successful.
If you can run the ball, you can control the tempo of the game and use the aerial attack as a bonus.
Williams might be an expensive option to put in Dallas’ backfield, but he would, without a doubt, separate this team from the rest.
Dallas has a revamped offensive line, but clearly the Cowboys aren't smiling on the declining production of Marion Barber. He's likely to be cut once Dallas is allowed to do so.
The Cowboys have also never shown any real eagerness to utilize Tashard Choice, one of the best backups this league has to offer.
They do have Felix Jones and rookie DeMarco Murray in the backfield, too, but neither has the ability to dominate a game. They could both excel, given limited touches to shred defenses as a change of pace.
On the other hand, DeAngelo Williams would be the workhorse back.
He's already shown he's comfortable playing in a committee coming from Carolina.
With a chance to win a Super Bowl and remain fresh for the entire season, Williams wouldn’t even care about losing carries throughout a game.
What's more, he'd be an excellent check-down option for Tony Romo.
Dallas could have arguably the best rushing attack in the league in DeAngelo, DeMarco and Felix.
1. Nnamdi Asomugha, CB
5 of 5
The No. 1 prize in free agency—Jerry Jones probably has his picture posted in his room as he and his team draws up contracts to get him from Oakland.
Asomugha is an elite defensive player. He has instincts, experience, leadership qualities, strength, speed and tackling ability—essentially, everything a team needs out of one player.
Asomugha would completely revamp this defense as he cuts off one side of the field.
You think DeMarcus Ware was already a top-level player? Imagine how devastating he could be with Asomugha creating a dead zone.
He is the one player who can put the Cowboys over the top. He will not only solidify this defense, but the entire team in general to make them the Super Bowl favorites.
