Pro Wrestling Top 25: Why WWE Is Moving Forward...and TNA is Moving Backwards
Thanks to the controversy that has surrounded my world for the past two weeks, I am making it clear that only one set of rankings truly matter in this section: MINE! With that said, here are the Top 25 Pro Wrestling Rankings. These are up to Sunday's pay per view event, TNA Bound For Glory.
#1) Jeff Hardy (SD!)
The Charismatic Enigma, not the Cerebral Assassin is the reason why SmackDown! has been a dangerous show. Now Hardy is starting to realize that if he wants to be hoist the WWE Championship, he needs to “Cross The Line.”

#2) Batista (RAW)
The Animal kept his No. 1 Contendership after defeating JBL last Monday night. Now he knows that when Cyber Sunday comes around, he will have to deal with three faces from his past that will determine whether he leaves CS World Heavyweight Champion.
#3) Matt Hardy (ECW)
The Era of Mattitude still reigns in ECW. Hardy did the unthinkable and defeated Mark Henry at No Mercy, but he still has to feel the wrath of the World’s Strongest Man…at least until Cyber Sunday.
#4) Triple H (SD!)
Despite retaining by the skin of his teeth, he is still The King of Kings. The problem for Triple H now? He has three guys all vying for his WWE Championship. And two of those three face each other this Friday night on SmackDown!
#5) Jeff Jarrett (TNA)
The King of The Mountain came back with a vengeance on Sunday. Thanks to the stupidity of Kurt Angle, Jarrett played a goodbye serenade for Foley to Angle to secure the win at Bound For Glory.
#6) Big Show (SD!)
The man with the knockout punch may have bit off more than he can chew as he may have not only screwed up his chances of becoming WWE Champion, but he may have also awaken a darker side of The Undertaker.
#7) The Undertaker (SD!)
The Phenom got knocked the Horn out at No Mercy, but that didn’t stop him from getting some payback on the World’s Largest Athlete. Someone might want to warn Vickie Guerrero that the wheelchair may not be the least of her worries.
#8) Brie Bella (SD!)
I know it’s shocking to you, but whatever is under that ring seems to be working for her. So far, ever since she’s gone scurrying under the ring during matches, she’s come back reenergized. But could it be a case of a double take or the real thing?
#9) Taylor Wilde (TNA)
The Knockouts Champion won the big one when it mattered. At TNA’s biggest pay per view, Wilde managed to survive the wrath of Awesome Kong and the Hardcore style of Roxxi to retain the gold at Bound For Glory.
#10) Vladimir Kozlov (SD!)
Kozlov has been an unstoppable force on SmackDown! Now he has a chance to become WWE Champion if he gets the nod from Vickie of course. But first, he has to deal with the thorn in his side known as Jeff Hardy.
#11) Chris Jericho (RAW)
The reason that Jericho is out of the Top 10 is because he went from best heel on RAW to a long winded speech that just needs to die. But in all honesty, he is starting to look more and more like another Canadian Chris with this new toothless look.
#12) R-Truth (SD!)
This guy is phenomenal! Since he’s been on SmackDown!, he has managed to put himself in the championship hunt. And Shelton Benjamin could be on the verge of losing more than his stock at Cyber Sunday.
#13) AJ Styles (TNA)
The leader of the Young Guns has been making it clear to the veterans that he isn’t going down without a fight. Unfortunately at Bound For Glory, Booker T and Christian Cage made sure that he just went down.
#14) Booker T (TNA)
The recent push of Booker T to the mainstream of TNA has been both good and bad. Thanks to the events in the main event, Booker T may become a face quicker than expected…and possibly drop that damn Brit/African accent.
#15) Cryme Tyme (RAW)
Because of the internet wars between them and The Dirt Sheet, Cryme Tyme has become a major player in the tag team division. Along with Kelly Kelly, CTC could see themselves involved with the Tag Team Championships at Cyber Sunday.
#16) Samoa Joe (TNA)
The Samoan Submission Machine has managed to survive every challenge…except the wrath of the Millionaires’ Club. Thanks to Kevin Nash, Samoa Joe has lost the prized possession of the Young Guns. Now Joe will be out for revenge this Thursday night.
#17) Shawn Michaels (RAW)
The Heartbreak Kid gave Lance Cade a proper sendoff last week. He sent him off by beating him senseless with a steel chair. A few days later, Cade was released by WWE. Now HBK has another chance at redemption at Cyber Sunday…in stripes!
#18) Sting (TNA)
The Icon got some help from Kevin Nash and did what he said he was going to do. So much for all this talk about respect. Sting might want to stay away from the IMPACT Zone this Thursday! The Young Guns are coming for payback!
#19) The High Flyers (RAW & ECW)
Since becoming a tag team, the high flying style of Rey Mysterio and Evan Bourne has left all of us begging for more. Thanks to the Superstar Exchange Program, we get to see as much of these two as possible…if they aren’t fighting Kane and Mark Henry all the time.
#20) Kurt Angle (TNA)
All the talk and all the BS in between couldn’t save Kurt Angle from getting his ass handed to him at Bound For Glory. And thanks to the Mandible Claw of Mick Foley and a Guitar Shot, Angle may have fought his final match with TNA.
#21) Mick Foley
The Hardcore Legend deserves his spot in the Top 25 due in large part to his role in silencing Kurt Angle at BFG. Whether Foley is with TNA after Thursday night or not remains to be seen.
#22) Beer Money (TNA)
The TNA World Tag Team Champions used Team 3D’s own momentum to leave Chicago, BFG and the Midway Monsters Ball still with the gold. To the most decorated tag team formerly known as The Dudleys: Sorry about your damn luck!
#23) Mark Henry (ECW)
The World’s Strongest doesn’t have his gold. This makes him a very dangerous individual. But will he get the fan’s vote for Cyber Sunday and have another shot at Matt Hardy and the ECW Championship?
#24) Randy Orton (RAW)
The Legend Killer has been on the shelf, but he is still arguably the best face/heel on RAW right now. Now he’s in the running to become the special guest referee for the WHC Match at Cyber Sunday alongside HBK and our final entrant in the Top 25…
#25) Stone Cold Steve Austin
Despite those who don’t seem the logic, consider this. This was originally thought of as a desperation move by Adamle to get ratings back. But with the thought of Austin coming back, the ratings have skyrocketed, and it’s no question that whether Austin is in or out, Adamle may have possibly saved RAW with this move.
